seems like my batter is still almost as good as new

seems like my first macbook pro is also a faulty uni. 2012 ivy bridge model, 2 weeks old, 13 cycles and the battery health is already down to 93%; battery capacity is 5394/5770.

Read post #522. It's not faulty. It's normal.

how is it normal when everyone is reporting much better results?
Results vary from one computer to another. You're only seeing a small sampling in this thread. If you think your computer has a problem, take it to Apple.

5 hours or "longer"? how much is "longer"?

while calibrating my battery last time, i let the drained battery rest for about 9 hours. Apple says 5 hours or longer. What is the max i can rest it for? i'd gone to sleep while calibrating. and it really suxxx... plz help...

As I asked in the other thread where you posted this same question, what model Mac do you have? The built-in batteries in the newer Mac unibody notebooks come pre-calibrated and do not require regular calibration like the removable batteries.

This should answer most, if not all, of your battery questions:

Mine is MacBook white 2010 bought someday on last week of September 2010. Now 23 October 2012. 433 cycles and 88% health. I lelt it plug in sometimes, ran on battery sometimes. Never completely drained it in a row. Never used it on a bed. My work mostly was programming. I use 7200rpm HDD. And I used it on average 6-8 hours a day everyday. So it is pretty good.

The cycles seem to vary a bit. Last week my battery was showing 93% health (which seemed low to me). Today, at 78 cycles, it's showing that I actually have slightly better capacity than what I started with.

Try recalibrating it.

My early 2009 MBP has a few hundred cycles (not sure of the exact number but < 400) and is at 72% original capacity. It spent a lot of time plugged in which is why the cycle count seems pretty low, and that probably hurt the battery.

I switched to my spare to see if it helps, but the spare is a $40 one I got from Amazon... and it does weird things.

Guess one old post responding to an ancient post deserves another. :p

Sold that Macbook years ago. Been using various PCs since.
