Just my 2 cents, from what I gathered in my 45min messing with a display model it is not bad, just mildly annoying. I think after a few hours your eyes will adjust and it won't be a big deal. But if you are very particular and picky I could see this as being an issue..

You know that there is zoom out zoom in option inside msWord. I think if I use that and make it slightly smaller, it will back to normal....

I wonder.... damn there is still no retina MBP displayed here :( :D

I've asked this question to maybe 3 people? LOL :D

but I want to ask this again to you... of course you use microsoft office right/open office. How bad it is at 1680x1050 res? (with normal distance from eye to monitor ,+- 30cms).

With screenshot is even better if you don't mind :)

Thanks a lot!

I use neither open office or ms office, just iWork.

What do you mean calculate the differences when creating websites? Could you give an example. I'm a tad confused.

forgive me if I'm wrong here but, from my knowledge reading here am i under the right assumption to say...

for example a document that i created in photoshop on my current mac is at 960px by 1200px for example, that this would be doubled essentially when opening it in photoshop on a retina but still show the original values when you first made it but would be using double the pixels it actually shows?

or does it only appear to show double the pixels? and say for creating traditional websites i would have to create a website at a new resolution of 1920x2400 for it to appear 'normal' on a retina screen then half the resolution for the more common monitor resolutions?

or will it just be the 'normal' way of designing in photoshop pixel by pixel but it would appear blurry only to a retina user but to a normal user it will be pixel perfect?

I'm not sure if I'm lost or getting the right idea about it... struggling to make a decision from what I've been hearing.

any help would be appreciated

I'd like to know this as well. It's all very hard to wrap my brain around lol.

Read this original post, it's a tad off the wall and confusing but it helped me understand a little bit better....
