Best way to sell on eBay is to set a fixed price and accept offers. You'll get tons of offers and you can counter backnat the price you are willing to sell. Smeone will go for it.

10 days is way too long. What's the point? Someone bidding on day 1 or 2 is not going to want to wait around another 8-9 days for the auction to end.

I would do a 3 day auction. Not sure if you can change it now or you have to start all over, depends how many days you have left.

And if you get a bid, you do have to sell it, you can't really change your mind unless it's no longer available for sale...interpret that how you will. :) You can cancel bids unless it gets within 24 hours of the auction end (or is it 12 hours? I forget).
OK Ive changed it to 260 euros. Are you saying I can pull out with 24 hours to go if it's a lousy offer or do I just claim it's no longer for sale?

I did it for ten days. Gonna take you advice and update my ad now.
Will keep you updated. I presume I don't have to sell if I'm not happy with price

Never do 10 day auctions if you're doing auction style. 10 day is good for maybe Buy It Now only/Fixed price.

And yes, you will have to sell your item if you receive a bid on it, no matter the price. You can put a reserve on the item, but in my experience many people stray away from reserved items. Also, if you have under 10 seller feedback you are not able to set a reserve price.

You can cancel the auction anytime before there are 12 hours left on the item, but again, in my experience (and for my iPad), the price didn't jump until the final two hours. You can cancel bids at anytime, however, be careful with this. You may cancel a bid and not get anymore bids, so you will be stuck with the lower amount, and if you're canceling bids to not sell your item at a lower price you may be reported and eBay will suspend your account.

I'd make it a 24 hour auction. It makes no sense to put it up any longer in a situation like this. There are literally thousands of iPads on eBay and letting yours sit there for days only decreases its value. Literally hundreds are being sold as yours sits there waiting to end, and more and more are being listed everyday.

Every time I have sold my iPhone it's been a 24-hour auction and I've gotten market value.

Look at completed listings for your item, and price accordingly based on what its currently selling for.

I would definitely make sure the auction ends before Friday when the iPad 2 goes on sale. There will be a ton more iPads going on sale after people buy the new one I'm guessing.

I put my 32 GB WiFi & case up on eBay for three days at $450. I ended up taking $425 for it the second day because I didn't want to hassle with it anymore, & interest was slim to none. That was a few days after the announcement of iPad 2.

The only problem with eBay is the slew of iPads being posted, & the amount of interest. I have NEVER had a problem selling my iPhones for more than what I paid for them because the interest is high. Sadly, this isn't the case for the iPad. :(

Overall, I'm moderately satisfied with what I got. I'm going to get the 32GB WiFi with smart case, so I'm only going to be out around $300 instead of $700. That's better than nothing!

I'd suggest just doing auction, or best offer. I think that's the only way to get it off your hands unless you Gazelle it (& they only offered $350 for my 32GB).

Make the opening bid really, really low (like $0.01). You'll get several people to jump in immediately and then they'll be emotionally vested in winning the auction. It sounds silly but it works every time. It'll sell and you'll get a good price for it.

You could also try Gazelle.com or eBay Instant Sale although I don't know if these options are available overseas.

Update with three daydream auction left, highest bid is 305 euros. Taking fees out of that,I'd be giving it away. Gonna wait till 24 hours to go and if there isn't a big improvement, I'll pass this on to one of my daughters with the ipad3 launch next year. The improvements I'd get from upgrading certainly don't warrant spending hundreds of euros

I sold my iPad 16 WiFi for $400 on craigslist.

The damn apple case even dented the back.

Dear god that sounds terrible

What if a few of those people drop out?

When i first joined EBay, I tried this tactic out and it worked half the time. Some people got invested and bid high on products, others left.

I put a $100 item on EBay for .01 once and sold it for $5. Never tried that again

Once they bid they can't drop out. And with a high-demand item like the iPad, there's no way it's only going to sell for $5. The important thing is to get people bidding, and high opening prices or reserves tend to inhibit that.

OK With 24 hours to go, latest bid was 380 euros. Too big a gap to upgrade, so I pulled out and will either have another look in two months when iPad1's are no longer in stock. Might make a better price and if not, my college going daughter will get it in twelve months, finances permitting

same here. I got £380 including postage for my 64gb wifi and case in very good condition.

this was two Sunday's ago, but I bet there are more iPads being sold this week.

can you hang onto it for a month?

Just sold my 16gb wifi (+ apple case + pink roocase) for $375 Australian... was hoping for the last minute flurry of bids I saw on the weekend to bump it up to $400 but no such luck :( Am selling an old iPod nano as well so between the two I've got a decent contribution to my iPad 2 fund =)

Maybe the market will get a little better in the future.

As a non ipad owner who ordered the ipad2, I am actually thinking of buying an ipad if we like it and it seems useful. I am not buying it now, maybe in a month or two.

I think the guy selling the 16 gb for $300 is reasonably priced. The truth is you are taking such a chance with used electronics, so I want a $300 large paperweight?

No problem hanging onto it. Great piece of kit and in my books iPad2 is only marginally better and so far they both run the same apps except imovie which I use my mbp for.
Will monitor the market over next couple of months
