I'm really hoping there will be the option to turn off 4G/LTE.The A5X chip will help with battery life so I don't think it'll really suffer. Should be a lot better when you're not using LTE as well.

I think you're confused because you're trying to figure out how long the battery of a phone that doesnt officially exist will last.

LOL, If the phone has LTE.... I am not so sure anymore (assuming this is the battery for the next iPhone). Either way, I feel there is a possibility I may fall into the category of someone with an LTE phone that never uses it.
People please
STOP MAKING ASSUMPTIONS ABOUT LTE POWER USE!
Rather than create idiotic "hand waving" threads about phantom issues why don't you do a bit of research.
There are multiple reasons why the next iPhone can improve battery life.
1. LTE phones in 2011 required 3 chips. 3G+Voice and LTE. That's now a 2 chip solution in most cases (MDM9615 I believe)
2. I don't think Apple uses a die shrunk A5X. I believe they'll either use a 32nm A5 variant in a dual or quad core configuration with more power saving modes.
3. iOS 6 should be more efficient in managing battery and components.
1440 mAh...what a joke.
1440 mAh...what a joke.
Keep in mind it's not an Android device. It gets better battery life than Android devices with 2100 mAh batteries. THAT'S a joke.
I hope you are correct with that one... I remember the few days with my iPhone 4 before I bought my 4S... The iPhone has such good battery life, I charged it everyday, but I could make it the entire day without a recharge. iOS 5 decreased its battery life slightly, but it was still better than the 4S.
My only worry is this... With every new iPhone, the battery life improved. Even if it was only slight, it did, at least it did for me.
ADDITIONAL: With the updates to iOS 5, the iPhone 4 may have regained battery life.

they wont release a phone that gets worse battery life than the 4s. calm down everybody.
Car charger sales are going to rocket for them![]()
And with the change over to the new sized connectors everyone is going to have to replace/buy and adaptor![]()
i'm glad you posted that b.c I was going to say, I get better battery with my 4S than I Did with the S3 which had a much bigger battery. By better, I mean A LOT BETTER.
No, they wont. Lateral move at worst.
And the 4S holds its own very well.

True, we have 4 iphones in the family, plus a few Mp3 docking stations.
All needing adaptors![]()
