Anyone over 2 returns has OCD.

It's a fact.

Simple question for you...

If you got 2 in a row like this, would you return it? Yes or No.

If my iPad was a low quality picture of an iPad taken in unknown lighting conditions, I'd return it! Yes, yes, a thousand times YES!

That's not to say that real problems don't exist once in a while. But you,re not going to prove anything with a picture here.

Returned 7 for various screen issues. I've had my eighth for a week but the left side of my screen has a distinct yellow tint. I've been dealing with it, but not sure if I should settle for a flawed product.

Well amazingly enough, this "low quality" picture of unknown lighting conditions perfectly captures the exact problems I had with 4 different iPads in a row. This photo proves quite a bit actually, when someone else can corroborate it.

Why are people so bent on disproving what more and more people are complaining about every day? Seems pretty obvious that many here are attaching an absurd amount of false sense of security to their precious iPad, and getting far more irate about the possibility that the emperor has no clothes than those who can plainly see he's butt naked.

The photo is an example. If you had an iPad that looked like that in person using your own eyes, you'd return it right? Now what if the replacement looked similar? Would you return it again? I'm guessing yes. So, does that mean that YOU are the problem or the device?

Why do people not want to accept that there ARE customers that have received multiple duds in a row? Some, like myself, are long time Apple customers who never had to return anything to Apple in the past.

BTW, I borrowed the photo from a thread that forum member "macjoshua" started, but again, it's an good example of what's coming out of the iPad factories.

Ahem! I returned mine due to the decision to increase memory and go 4G! No screen issues that I can see or can't see!:p

I have returned zero iPad's, or iPhone's. I've only returned one Apple product and that was an iMac that kept freezing every few minutes and the store was unable to fix it.

Those with screen issues are slowly getting some validation.

It shouldn't be long before other blogs follow suite, and that, as we have see before, is often what calls Apple to action.

He appears to be quoting those here on MR. Not really coming from sources outside of the forum. I don't disagree there are those screens with problems. I still find it hard to believe you can get 12 bad ones in a row.

Going on my 31st New iPad... The bluetooth icon is not really blue, I want it to be Scandinavian Sunrise #3 and I will keep returning them until I find one that is Scandinavian Sunrise Blue #3! I paid good money and I will not settle for less!

I'm on my third and screen is pinkish all over compared to brothers which is as it should be - white.

His iPad was perfect first time.

First one had 50% pink screen and the second one had a little bit of pink in one corner which I was willing to accept but then I noticed the rubber seal around screen was faulty in one spot near the volume and slightly imperfect all over compared to all other iPads I've had or seen.

I'll be exchanging it tomorrow or Monday for number 4. I'll keep changing until I'm happy.

Ive had an iPhone 4 for 18 months and MacBook Air i8 256gb 2011 model for 8 months that are both perfect and have never been exchanged. And my iPad 1 was brought & never exchanged.

So I'm not OCD..... And the iPad is essentially a screen - it needs to be perfect.

Good for you! Dont settle for anything less than Scandinavian Blue! Good luck with your 32nd.

You want to check my grammar again? :)

Exchanged on because of the yellow screen. Replacement was defiantly better but nothing like my iPad2 as far as whites looking white.

It will be interesting to see what the iPad3s being manufactured in 6 months look like compared to the earlier models. Will there be an improvement on whites looking white or will they be the same?

Did you even read your own link?

".A MacRumors forum thread that started this morning is quickly growing"

The source for that article is the forum you are in right now. Lol.

I'm on my 16th iPad still getting backlight bleed

I feel sorry for you, but not for the reason you are probably imagining...

I returned 2, not for OCD cosmetic flaws or defects. First one was a Black 64gb ATT and I was very disappointed witht the LTE performance in my area. Thought about it long and hard and figured I wouldn't need LTE (never used the 3g from my 2 when I had it last year) and the huge capacity. My actual ipad usage was like 2 or 3 bands anyway for music, no video, and about 15-20 apps (1 game). So I got a Black 16gb wifi. Then was pretty bored with the black (since my 2 was black as well) really quickly and I exchanged it for a white 16gb wifi. Couldn't be happier. Love the white and I have about 8.4gbs unused.

I'm a happy camper, finally finding the perfect ipad for me

I do see a slight dark band and a couple of dark spots that could be dead pixels in the lower left. But that doesn't mean it looks anything like what it looks like in real life. It is not by any stretch of the imagination high enough quality to tell anything, and even if it was, anecdotes don't prove anything.

More and more? You just made that up. Irate? I think it's hilarious. Statistics tells me that when somebody returns 13 in a row, he's way too picky. And yes, I would say that in real life to his face. Not in an angry way, but in a mocking way. I think you're feeling your own anger and think anyone who disagrees with you is irate too. I read these threads more for entertainment value than anything. Maybe that makes me a bit of a troll, but I didn't intend that.

Bottom line, mass produced products are going to have a few minor defects, always. A dead pixel or two in bleeding edge displays is going to happen sometimes. If they're in a really bad spot, okay, return it. It's not the end of the world, or Apple as we know it ...but I repeat myself.

5 ipad2s.
#1 very bad light bleed, it looked like a spot light in the lower left corner.
#2 Light bleed all around, could watch movies
#3 wifi didn't work diagnostics passed
#4 volume slider didn't work
#5 camera didn't work but diagnostics passed

2 Ipad3s
#1 home button stopped working after random periods of time. reboots fixed it
#2 light bleed right side, obvious during full screen usage
#3 open case wifi stops working

None. Because I have a life outside of staring at my screen for hours trying to find something wrong with it.

The genius bar must love you guys. Apple should start a blacklist.

So you would accept defective units with where wifi, home and volume buttons didn't functioning properly because you have a "life"?

Genius bar? Telephone support and advance exchange.
Simply recorded a video with my iPhone and sent it to the tech support rep. They decided if the defects warranted an exchange.
Each time I received units I would receive an email the next day asking if the device was satisfactory.

As of 1PM est. the poll results indicate a return rate of 46% (using 5 returns in the 5+ category. If you assume the average number of returns in the 5+ category is 7, then the average return rate increases to 51%.

No, I agree that there are genuine problems with some iPads where various things don't work and they should be exchanged. Same for people who decided after a few days they wanted to change storage size or wifi/non wifi. But all this my screen has a blue/green/red/orange/pink/rainbow tint and when I get an all black image it does this...and I'm on my 42nd iPad now....etc etc.....load of rubbish. Go buy a tablet off someone else.

I can agree with that.

I will say I have friends that have purchased 16g iPads and have gone back after after a few days for a 32g device. Apple and AT&T seem to be accommodating for issues like that.

Light bleed is extremely subjective. If you watch a lot of movies the slighted light bleed can be distracting.

However, I don't think every light bleed issue deserves it's own thread:)
