Between me and a family member: 5. Yes, not a typo, 5. All have had problems with uneven whites. Some were yellow on bottom 1/4 of screen, one was yellow in the bottom left corner and now this one I'm typing on which I'll end up returning is pink! on the left side. Really disappointed. These weren't really small, minor tint issues this was where my 55 year old mom not wearing her reading glasses could even notice it. Meanwhile I go on my girlfriends original iPad Mini and it's such a joy to have an even, white background.

And before anyone gets all pissy, I don't ever do this, I consider this Retina Mini to have design, parts, or manufacturing defects(I know a lot will disagree). I've bought 20-25 Apple products in my life, this was the first time I ever returned anything. Have always been happy up until this point. To have returned 5, after they raised the price of them? What a bad joke.

Hm, my exchange doesn't come up to my expectations.. It's better than the first one, but still.. Yellow tint is better and light bleed is worse (more intense in the corner). And also: How does the black backround look like on your rMimi? Mine seems to be pinkish.. I guess it well get exchanged, nr. 2 :( Btw. iOS 7.0.3 was installed

Edit: Sry iOS 7.0.3 was installed.. I had an update for iOS 7.0.4.

I see no such pinkish tinge on my rMini.

Perhaps its because I was able to use gift cards, and so the cost was not an issue but I do think the rMini is a worthwhile upgrade. I'm happy with the performance and screen. Apple took all the short comings of the original mini and improved upon them

I returned my first one, ordered day 1 on Apple.com, only because I was spooked by all the shortage talk. The next day they had stock available for in store pickup. I absolutely hate relying on ups, checking the tracking sites every day, waiting by the window for the brown truck to never arrive. In-store pickup is the way to go, if you have that option.

I.e. No QC issues whatsoever. The rMini is the best tablet I've ever owned.
