I will be going on my 4th replacement iPhone 5 and i'm just wondering if it's just bad luck or if this is normal... it seems to me like the build quality on iPhone 5's is pretty bad... I've had 2x terrible batteries, a hairline of dead pixels, and now both my lock and silent buttons are sticky and i didn't do anything to cause it... the phone is in a bumper case!

Not one; I've had my phone for going on three months now I think and it's still perfect. I won't say it's bad luck but I will say that I think most people have replaced their phones for cosmetic reasons so I would be interested in hearing a break out of those as well.

None...I've had mine since two weeks after release, it's used naked and kept in a slip case. It's still out-of-the-box pristine, and works perfectly.

1 replacement so far due to failing home button + dust in camera lens 7 months after purchase.

Also had a lightning cable replaced.

One since May. Overheating to the point it would leave marks on skin. Replacement is perfect, not a single fault.

Got mine in February. Had to take the first back only because I forgot when I got my prior 4s I jumped up to the 32 instead of the 16 so when I got the 16 for the iphone 5 I was quite shocked to see I ran out of space before reinstalling all my apps and songs and such. Ever since I have not had a single problem, not even a scratch.

Both my daughter and wife are still using their original iPhone 5. My wife did have the external speaker replaced.

I've had one and I didn't really want to get it replaced. I had it since launch day but my wife was reporting that I was cutting in and out while talking.

Apple tested it and found it was a bad mic. Got the replacement in November and it's been absolutely fine. Other than normal wear and tear I've had no issues.

Sure miss my launch day iPhone 5 though! Other than that mic, it was fine.

First replacement was for a unresponsive power button, and the second for a touchscreen issue where "hovering" your hand above the screen would cause the keyboard to type gibberish. Very weird. Genius thought a wipe/restore would fix it, but it turned out to be hardware-related.

I'm on my 4th now, all due to dust (Genius says it's actually pieces of the sapphire lens) in the camera.

3 replacements so far, first one had major dings and scratches, second one was bent out of the box, and third one had a sticky power button after 1 week.

My fourth one has scratches on the chamfered edge and I baby it everyday. It's just a bad quality phone, period.

I'll be on my 3rd phone as soon as I take it in due to the power button failure. All power buttons. My wife's power button has failed once as well. Several co-workers have had power buttons fail as well. I'd assume the 5's power button will end up like the 4's home button where everyone's ends up having issues.

Are you getting these replaced with Apple Care? The power button my first iPhone 5 has just recently gone out and I don't have any Apple Care. Been wondering if I could get a replacement from the Genius Bar or not.

0 replacements so far. Keeping my fingers crossed! Any device can have problems…
