How many iPhones sold on U.S. Apple site today?

Surprise, surprise - no more orders eligible for the June 24th delivery date.

Any guesses on how many iPhones were sold today?
 
Another thought - how quickly would they have sold out if the site hadn't spazzed out?
 
I wonder if this will break the iPhone 3G's sales number record (that's the best selling iPhone to date right?). Pretty amazing feat if you ask me... 😉
 
Factor in all iPhone 3G users from Summer 2008, plus new recruits, plus people who had a hand-me-down iPhone and you got a **** load of people DDoSing away at Apple, AT&T & BestBuy (oh yes, they were hammered too, but they do all their pre-ordering on a seperate system and then at early morning do the bulk transactions, so the customer sees only coordination.)
 
I know at one I had about 12 of them sitting in my cart before I was able to buy one, does that count as 12 or 1? hehehe
