Kudos wgilles! After a day like today this gave me a good chuckle.

It's just what I needed, thanks. :D

Did someone already mention the Hackbulb? You know, you get high-powered light bulb components and make it yourself?

Then there's the Building the Perfect Light Fixture thread, where a MR member decides to build the fixture from scratch, and posts photos of every step, wherein several members step in with advice, congrats and similar photos.

Well, you forgot about the people posting unboxing photos of the lightbulb, the people who have to say that Edison looks too skinny, the people who think that when you flick the switch the new bulb seems snappier, and those that think their bulb is a little yellow and maybe we should return it to Target.

Smashing :D

Bill Bailey:
How many Scientologists does it take to change a light bulb?

Two. One to change the bulb and one to tell Tom Cruise the bulb cost $8000.

That's funnier (and something I hadn't heard a million times over) :D

I don't think these have been said, apologies if they have.

10 people who will complain they need a bulb that can be easily upgraded.

3 people to then post a picture of a donkey being beaten to death/facepalm in reference to the above posters.

26 people to then argue, that while more expensive and not easily upgradable, our light bulbs are far brighter and will retain their value for far longer.

1 person to recommend a hacked together version of the light bulb and a link on where to get it.

1 mod to then ban the above person and scrub the link.

I'm waiting for a new bulb. This isn't a shall I wait or shall I buy question, I know the new bulbs are coming - I only want to know if like me you are waiting for a new bulb?

Pics or it didn't happen. :)
I think I remember seeing the post in an elevator.

Anyway, I'm not too thrilled about my latest light bulb experience: I went to Best Bulb specifically wanting to buy a particular kind of bulb, and the salesperson kept telling me that this bulb has too many problems and I should buy another kind of bulb instead.

Have you seen the latest celebrity ad for the new lightbulb?

I won't be waiting in line for next year's lightbulb.

5 to tell you to skip the 2012 light bulb and wait for the 2013 as it will be brighter and have a matte glass.

3 to tell you not to buy the light bulb but get a flood light instead. As it comes with 12 bulbs and will run rings round your light bulb.

100 tell you don't upgrade the filament from the manufacturer but buy from (insert website of choice) as it will save you $100!

3 people who are still spreading the myth that you have to leave your bulb on all night or over time it will get dimmer and dimmer, and eventually get so dim it emits no light at all. One will be selling a timer that turns on the bulb every night at 3am.
