How is the red mini? I might trade my mini and I’d like a different color. But red might be harder to match for cases? I’ve had a black that I returned and settled on a blue mini.

Ive never been a fan of the pure red in Apple’s Product Red line, but the fact that this years red is a coral/orange red, I knew I had to try. I absolutely love the color in person and I think it works really well with a saddle brown leather!

Okay I need some feedback from iPhone 12 mini owners.

I've been using an iPhone 6 for years and like the size and weight.

I'm currently testing an iPhone 11 Pro on loan from a friend for the past month. While I love the battery life, I don't particularly love the weight. The size is okay, if not a bit large for one hand use.

So I'm considering the iPhone 12 mini. Biggest concern is battery. Is it as bad as many reviewer make it to be?
Can I turn off 5G, to improve battery times?

I'm not a power user, mostly surfing and twitter doomscrolling these days. :)
Will I get at least a day's use without recharging?

If you are decided about size, then yes, you should go for it. 188g on 11 Pro is really weighty.

I have no problem with battery for a whole day, sometimes around 5-6pm I got around 40%. And yes, you can turn 5G off. 🙂

I'm sure that battery life on your 6 is bad (it was even brand new, I had one) and the 12 mini will be leaps better than your 6. Yes, you can turn off 5G and yes, I would imagine you'll get a full day. You'll love it, join the club!

Wow sooo battery life huh. I didn't charge my phone so I was down to 18% when i woke up. Woke up and immediately started a meeting for work at 8:58. By 9:30, my battery hit 80% via usb-c 32 watt charging (using an anker portable battery PD charger). That's awesome! Didn't even realize how fast it takes to charge.

Honestly the battery life will surely last you a full day. I’m a medium/power user. My iPhone 12 mini is constantly connected to my Apple Watch (which does impact the battery life), as well as often being connected to my AirPods Pro. I do a lot of streaming from my phone, in addition to everything else. Yet it easily lasts a full day, and I only charge it for 30mins at the time (reaching 50+% battery life with the 20W fast charger). Even my watch doesn’t charge that fast. Yes, turning off 5G should help, as well as limiting the apps constantly running in the background, using dark mode etc. There are many battery tips on this forum 😉

Even though I have had high capacity iPhone batteries, I never found a need to turn on background processes. So it’s always off on my mini except for one app. 5g doesn’t seem to benefit me so it’s off. Otherwise I’m fine with the battery. Having a fast charger battery pack is a great too.

If you have the model from outside the US (I'm in the UK) is there any 5G to be turned off? I know the phone is slightly different here.

Blue 12 mini here! Sometimes I wish I got red because it reminds me of my old pink 5c, which I have nostalgia for, but oh well.

Im from the UK as well and changed the setting to 4g only. Just recently changed my EE upgrade to SIM only, so gone from paying £48 to £10 a month with 10gb 4g data and unlimited calls/texts so well happy. Dont need 5g right now, but its good to have the option when i need it.

Had one once like this one:

300 posts of everybody loving their Mini iPhones, that is great. I loved this Mini too, helluva lot of fun to drive. Mine was a Mini Cooper S 1250.
Launch day Black 128 Mini. Paid full price, no carrier discount, no regrets. Upgraded from 6S.

Speaking of other Minis, I learned how to drive in a Mini around 1970 in New Zealand. Current Minis look enormous by comparison. Guess you could also say that about iPhone Minis compared with the 4 or 5 iPhones.

Blue 256GB iPhone 12 mini full retail + AppleCare+
Had the 8 for 2yrs, downgraded to the SE OG back in November '20 and it was horrible, terry battery life of 5hr moderate, 4hrs full music playback over AirPods Pro - killed the SE OG.

Got the 12 mini ... I LOVE this device - build, weight the look how everything floats in the air or in the palm of my hand, the colour (I'll be getting Black soon enough as well).

First brand new no contract phone I've purchased in 3yrs and glad I did.
Skinned it in DBrand iCons.

iphone 12 min - it's an icon living.

I have two «gripes» with it:
- When using it I feel the screen is a bit small - coming from an iPhone 11. But I do not miss the heft of the 11.
- I mistype more often on it, but I have large fingers. :)

Blue iPhone mini 128GB—-Love it! It’s almost the perfect size for me, and I usually fit into medium size gloves. I’m also pleased that some of the power and features of the bigger phones is now in a smaller design.

I have a track record of small phones: iPhone 3GS, 5, SE 1st gen. If you’re reading this Apple, please count me as someone who will buy a small phone for as long as you make one.

For anyone wondering about battery life, I have had no problem lasting all day. I have light to moderate use, streaming radio, browsing web, reading news, messaging, and an occasional phone call.

Long live the small iPhone!

VERY eccstatic iPhone 12 Mini 256GB owner here in Blue with DBrand Icons blacked out skin.
- I have a spare skin in case of a warranty replacement or repair down the road.
Pitaka MagEZ Aramid (carbon like) super slim case for it on its way.

Best iPhone I’ve owned since the iPhone 4S - feels just as solid, yet the weight between it and the 5S feels just perfect.
coming on close to 25 days now and the battery life settled in, no different from initial day - MUCH longer for my use case than I thought.

although I work from home 3 out of 4wks on rotating shifts and 3days 1wk I do use my phone heavily, still getting about 9hrs moderate use (4hrs browsing total, 3hrs music with AirPod Pro’s local library/streaming, 40mins social media, 2hr productivity apps and podcasts, 40mins workouts daily - streaming music over Wi-Fi to HomePod).

paid retail in full.

Considering moving to a carrier and changing number so not sure if I’ll get another 12 mini and keep it in dark cool space OR wait to the 13 mini debuts. If significant enough, 13 mini gets 120hz pro motion display and TouchID under screen + Face ID) I’m swapping out To get That.

Umm just had a thought ... what if ONLY the Pro and Pro Max 13 models get both TouchID and FaceID ? ! That would really grind my gears; but would not put it past Apple to do just that.

All the rumors are saying that only the pros are getting 120hz, wouldn’t get your hopes up.

More added features will make the mini unbearable to the feeble weak armed mini owners, so it would be just as well if the added features omit the mini.
