Agreed. In the poll I made asking whether people wanted a telephoto or ultra wide camera, ultra wide won by a few votes. I would much prefer the telephoto though.
I'm very surprised by that. It just doesn't make sense to me. I mean, the normal iPhone lens is already pretty "wide" in photographic terms. And an ultrawide is such, such a niche lens, while the tele is used all the time, in portraits and everything. Don't get me wrong, I love an ultrawide lens, I think it's a fantastic technological acomplishment to have such a lens on a phone, but on my iPhone 11 Pro I think I used it 10 times less than the tele.

I would get a mini in an instant if it had the tele as the second lens. I'll probably still end up replacing my 11 Pro with a mini.

Hang on a minute, i thought the 12 and 12 mini have 2 X Optical Zoom, with the Pro models having X 4 Optical zoom. Am i missing something here ???
Apple is deliberately being misleading here. The 12 and 12 mini have a 2x zoom *range* meaning they go from ultrawide to wide (1/2x to 1x). But the closest “zoom” they have is the same “wide” lens iphones have always had.

the pro has a 4x *range* because it goes from ultra wide (1/2x) to zoom (2x). But the zoom lens is the same 2x it’s been since the first zoom lens on an iPhone (iPhone 7+ I think). (The 12 pro Max has a 2.5x zoom, which is a first on an iPhone.)

Don’t think I’ve used the ultra wide since I got my mini. I just find it useless. On my wife’s Xs, I use the zoom more often than not.

I really hope they bring an iPhone 13 Mini Pro to the market with equivalent internals to the top of the line but with the smaller form factor. I'd buy that immediately. Doubtful but would be the perfect phone imo.

Not now but i will be joining you when (if) iPhone 13 mini comes out.

I bought iPhone 12 instead. I am impatient. Don’t judge me. 🥺
Best iPhone form factor they’ve made. Part of the issue is how it’s marketed as mini. Like how the iPhone 11 was more like the 10r, this should have been the 12c for compact (vs 12r vs pro models). I’ve had a number of people grab my phone and when they see how big the screen is they say that’s not so small or you sure that’s the mini

The iPhone mini would be perfect for me if it had TouchID. I really can’t manage at work with a mask and only FaceID. (And I dont want to wear an Apple Watch.) So I bought a new iPhone SE instead. If the iPhone 13 mini has Touch ID, I’m in! I’d even take an SE 3 with TouchID, without a home button and without FaceID. Like the iPad Air 4.

I suspect that the new 5G modem that's supposed to be in the iPhone 13 will go a long way toward improving the battery life in an iPhone Mini - assuming Apple will do one again. As far as I'm concerned, battery life is the only mark the Mini has against it. Other than that, the size is great - it's still larger than an SE Mark II.

Just wanted to see how many here actually own a Mini. I do and i love it, my favorite iPhone ever. I can hold it normally and reach the top corners. Really hope Apple brings it back next year.
Thx i also own an iPhone Mini 256 red and i love it. But I also know that most of the people I meet are skeptical and also making jokes about the small size 🙄. Greetings from Berlin!

Black in Saddle Brown Leather, 128GB. Love the size & weight. If this size was available in the future I'd like to stick to it. Coming from 11 Pro would welcome back telephoto (but priorities ultra wide out of the two).
