How Many of You Actually Use the Trackpad?

When I have a desk setting, I use keyboard and mouse, and have my laptop on a stand. Otherwise, I definitely use the trackpad.

I always use my trackpad. I find using external keyboards and mice to be a trifle annoying.

On the go - Usually the trackpad unless I planned in advance to be working for an extended period of time. In that case, I usually pack my mighty mouse with me.

At home - Mighty mouse. I use my MBP connected to a 24'' monitor, and I keep the MBP closed...so gotta use a mouse.

I'm not a fan of the trackpad, it's alright for searching for things online but often when i type, i find the cursor always leaps and jumps about, probably cause wrists are hovering over trackpad. So i tend to use a cordless/wireless mighty mouse at any given opportunity, with a mouse present the trackpad is disabled...

dunno why people need to use a wired mouse when there's bluetooth built right into the MB & MBP...😕

+1 for IBM TrackPoints. It's awesome cause i never have to remove my fingers from the keyboard. Plus my arrow can get all the way across the screen without me lifting up my finger, unlike most trackpads. APPLE NEEDS THIS!!

I loathe all trackpads and absolutely ADORE the trackpoint. When an external mouse is not available, I simply have to have a trackpoint...the PERFECT integrated pointing device. The last two ThinkPad's I've purchased (T23 and X60s) were models that had trackpoints (of course) and do NOT have touchpads.

I've owned quite a few laptops...including a 1st gen MacBook (1.83GHz CD) and a current gen MacBook Pro. When statiioned on a desk, using the integrated keyboard and an external mouse (the Logitech Trackman Marble is my fav), the MacBook is my favorite laptop. When using both an external mouse and keyboard, I prefer my current gen MacBook Pro. But, if I need to use the integrated keyboard and pointing device...nothing beats my ThinkPad X60s.

I recently came back from a 13 month tour over in Iraq. I originally brought my 1st gen MacBook with me. I rarely got to use it with the external mouse and really got irritated with the trackpad. When I returned home on vacation, I gave the MacBook to my wife and picked up my X60s (running linux...I don't do the nasty). Now that I am home, it is still, bar none, my favorite portable. (bought my current gen MacBook Pro to drive my 30" display and to sync my iPhone)
