Your hands aren't dirty until the mail has been delivered. As long as you wash before picking it back up I don't see the problem.

the only way it could be better is if they made it a sealed water proof unit with induction charging so i could use it in the bath/shower/pool.

I don't understand what's so "gross" about it? You go in, set your ipad down, pull down yr drawers, pick it up, do yr business, set it down again, wash yr hands, pick it up, and leave. At what point does the ipad come in contact with anything "gross"?
In theory you're right. But I'd bet cash money people that even people who are admitting they do it on here don't leave their unit on the floor while they go wash and dry their hands.....
Heck, I've seen people go walk out of the throne room at the office with their iphones in their hands, then go wash up.
People can be pretty gross....

Yea I did back when I had it, now I either use my phone (ended up selling the iPad because my phone could do "more") or my laptop, depending on where I am and what bathroom I'm using. If I'm home, the laptop will definitely accompany me while I'm occupied.
My iPad hasn't left the confines of the toilet for a few months now - most useless gadget I've ever bought.

You know that here in Japan the "throne" is really advanced compared to other countries: I'm right now looking at a remote controller with 15 buttons; and there are many with a display. If I walk nearby my throne it also open itself and a light goes on.

i'm one of those lucky guys with a wife that thinks all electronic gadgets (including computers and the internet) are a total waste of time and only exist for guys to view pr0n, so no, i won't be using mine in the throne room.
Damn, how much time do you guys spend on the throne to need something to play on? I just dump and go in less than 5 minutes so who has time to use the iPad in that short period of time? Makes no sense....
I don't really see how that's disgusting... I mean, do you go out anywhere? I'm sure you've touched worse bacteria while at work and then touched your mouth or face after. You should be more worried about that.
I'm sure people aren't using it between wipes so I don't really see how it's disgusting. (At least not with the same hand)
