I think this poll only refers to the iPad 5? I will will be looking to buy the retina mini once released.

Since I have toyed around with a Nexus 7 (love the size) so much, I think I'll get the retina mini whenever it comes out as a companion device to my iPad 3. I read a lot on my iPad, and would love a more portable version and leave the 3 at home. I'm a very staunch android user on phones, but the tablets haven't really attracted me very much.

My iPad 3 is in substantial condition. There is nothing there that can pull me out. 1Ghz processor, 1GB RAM, retina display....etc. There has to be something completely insane that would make me give up my iPad 3. Ex: 2.0 Ghz single core processor, 2GB RAM, 4K resolution W/ 300+ pixels per inch.....etc

Yeah retina makes me really happy on my 3

Plus I lost gmail exchange when I tried out a 4 that was kinda poo-y

I have the Mini, and I'll either be upgrading to a Retina display Mini or back to a full sized iPad.

I'll make the switch back to the larger screen if the iPad 5 rumours are true with regards to the smaller form factor and lighter weight.

I sold my iPad 3 already as I had the chance too at a good price. So I may have done it preemptively, but I'm so ready for an upgrade!

I voted that I would upgrade for an increase in performance.

But the fact is that in a one of a kind accident, I've totally shattered the iPad (4) to the point you'd cut your finger if you were trying to use it.

So...I'll upgrade regardless. :)

Can't you take it to the Genius Bar and pay for a repair? I know with iPhones you can pay for a repair, and sometimes they will offer you a replacement. I'm not sure if the option is available for iPads

I just now purchased my first iPad a couple months ago. If the iPad 5 comes with a better camera, a new form factor, and a faster processor - then I'm sold. A better display would also be a plus.

Poll doesn't have my options:

*** No, I am happy with my iPad 3 for home use.

*** Yes, I will be getting the retina Mini and giving my Mini I to a family member.

:) :) :)

I still have an iPad 1st gen. I will most likely upgrade this time. My 3 year old since he pretty much owns the one I have now, can just keep it. lol

Ditto

Already went to a full size from the Mini. As I see it, it is going to be awhile and I'm not even sure I'll buy the 5 regardless. The more I use the 4, the weight and size are truly overblown!

Of course. I have an iPad 3 16gig which, as a teacher, has proven to be not nearly enough storage. So, once the iPad 5 comes out I'll be upgrading to the 128gig model.

My iPad 2 is starting to ghost the previous screens pretty badly plus I've dropped it a few times so the home button doesn't work that well. Throw in the fact that I want retina and I'll definitely get the next iPad. Tempted by a Mini but I think I've realized I don't need a portable tablet, I can put up with the more weight for the benefit of the bigger screen.

I will buy the next iPad which comes with acceptable portability and retina display, be it mini or iPad 5. If the iPad 5 (or 6) is still to big or heavy compared to the mini, I'll wait until the mini retina comes out. I currently have the iPad 2, and I'm not in a hurry to upgrade.

best Buy Open Box + overpriced used market = annual upgrades at nearly no cost.

I plan on keeping my mini as a spare tab for music and books. I will be buying a new full sized iPad.

One cannot do too well with BB open boxed newer iPads, not even 10% off.

Honestly I kinda like Best Buy open box.

it's nice to inspect the condition before committing to purchase it (and still return policy in place).

For the screen, but even sometimes you can be fooled into thinking a good one is good. But terrible ones should be obvious right away.

The new ipad 5--full size--will be an important upgrade. It will transform the ipad design from utilitarian to "wow's. Apple badly needs to imbue the ipad with some visible design cue to destinguish it from its competitors--similar to the way the all aluminum laptop rediefined that market
