For guitar players, check out Positive Grid app Bias. It's an incredible amp modeler with realistic amp, speaker models. Run that into GarageBand and you have a killer little recording music making rig.

I have all my mp3s loaded onto google music since I only have the 16gb rMini and I use either the built in speakers or my Bluetooth speaker.

Menel,

nice. what systems are those in the locations? BT speakers??
Den is a Pioneer receiver in my main entertainment rack.
Bedroom is a standalone Pioneer radio thing.

Patio is an Airport Express extending wifi to west side of house and patio, and plugged to an old small amplifier.
Study is an Airport Express extending wifi to east side, and plugged into a Logitech computer speaker 2.1 set.

No bluetooth, too low quality.

Since the mini is pocketable (purse, for me), my rMini has basically replaced my iPod. I gave up on Apple ever making a 128GB iPod Touch. This mini is pretty much only for music, and a few books. Now if only the music app worked well for very large music libraries.....

I have an iPad Air for everything else - lots of apps, browsing, video, anything that needs the larger screen.

nice setup!

Two main ways:

iPad Air -> Denon receiver (AirPlay) -> Paradigm speakers

iPad Air -> Lightning to USB Camera Adapter -> FiiO DAC/Amp -> Sennheiser headphones

I usually use Spotify or Google Music All Access. It's not lossless, but 320 is good enough given the convenience of having 500+ personal CDs and millions of subscription tracks available from the cloud.
