The idea is to see what you get off a SINGLE charge.
Bump... Come on guys...
Yea that was a SINGLE charge.. No need to get sarcastic about anything. Chill out.
I wasn't being sarcastic, simply clarifying the point of the thread. This was not a single charge, your phone was partially charged since the last full charge, as stated on your phone's screen. Sorry if the all caps conveyed sarcasm, but if you want a true measure of your battery performance you should let it ride on a single charge.
Sometimes I wish you could disable the "USB charging" feature when syncing but I guess other than my morbid curiosity of battery life length there would be no purpose. Also there has been times where I have to connect disconnect back and forth allot for whatever reason and would prefer not stressing my battery like that....I know its not THAT big of a deal but still.Could have just been connected to do a sync. Usually doesn't take long and does not charge the battery to an appreciable amount. But you are correct to really know one should avoid plugging the phone in at all.
Lmao sorry I had to post that because when I saw it I was like WTF.LOL not this again. It comes down to how you use it.
In terms of most battery used to least, here is an approximate breakdown:
1. Screen (yep the Retina display eats the most)
2. GPS
3. 3G (calling & data)
4. WiFi browsing
5. Video (from iPod)
6. Music
Push mail and notifications is dependent on how many messages you get and whether you're going thru wifi or 3G to get them. Gaming is also dependent on processor usage so it's hard to quantify.
Suffice it to say that most people get 5-8 hours with mixed usage of the above.
