I can't seem to wrap my head around the reason you would not plug it in over night. That's like prime time to charge it.

Because they want to be able to post their screenshot on how great the battery is..silly I know.

I just don't understand this whole battery life thing. As long as the phone will get you till the next place you can charge it, shouldn't be a concern.

For me, I work from 9:00-6:30. I go from 100% when I leave in morning, by the time I'm about to go to bed, I always have between 10-50% depending how much I used phone during day. Charge it, wake up, repeat.

I'd like to know the people that need 2 days on one charge? Do you not have electric? A car? A place of work with electric? I'm sure someone will come here and explain there situation and for them it makes sense, but for the majority, what is the excitement of having 2 days without charging when you can just plug it in at night when you sleep?

..the voice of reason

All I know is that I charged my i6 last night before I went to bed and then unplugged it. When I woke up, it was still at 100% on wifi, two email addresses set on push. 14 emails over night. Now at 10hrs it is at 95% with light use.

Sorry but those guys who say they drop zero overnight, I simply don't believe you
Apple state the standby time as 384 hours, that's with full signal probably. Let's say 350 hrs real world, that's 3.5 hrs per percent, so a 8 hour sleep you will lose around 2% and that's the BEST case scenario!!
I'm seeing around 4~5% overnight
I can see how you might get zero drop when it's on 100%, as for some reason you get much more usage out of that first 1%!

You caught me: I was lying.

I agree. I can't ever under stand why people will complain about how their battery life doesn't make it a whole 2 days

I'm seeing 0%-1% on my 6. I'll check usage tonight though. Not sure what that is.

What apps do you have running overnight?

Do you send diagnostics (Settings>General>Privacy>Location Services>System Services)?

Which apps do you allow Location Access. I know some can still use it while they are running in the background (e.g. Waze... So I would think some other Google apps may as well).

Do you keep Bluetooth on all night?

Was it on 100%? Because if not I don't see how it's possible. The standby time can't be more than 800 hours surely

Have tried already, will try again tonight.

Had about 1 hour of usage last night while sleeping!!!

What is an MFI Certified charger?

----------

And lastly, i'm not asking how much battery drain, I am asking how much it says your phone was in use while you were sleeping!

MFI = Made for iPhone. It means Apple has certified it meets the requirements for safe use with the device. I used to think it didn't matter, but I've had some cheap chargers do some really bad stuff to iPhones. Since you ca still find good prices on MFI, I won't ever mess with the cheap ones ever again.
