I have seen a lot of people put iPhone 5's on Facebook and have to laugh at some of the offers they get..... "I'll give you £120 and pay today cash"... Err no thanks mate haha. I had some silly offers on mine before I eventually sold it and people were quite surprised when I didn't want to sell it for over a hundred quid under the asking price, like they were doing me a favour! Unless an iPhone is in particularly bad condition, I doubt you would realistically sell it for less than £220, (32gb at least).

They do hold their value pretty well when compared to other devices I have sold at the end of a contract. I did once sell an HTC incredible S for £130 and that was only £10 less than I had paid 12 months previously. It's always nice to nearly break even or make a little money on an old device. :)

I''m probably going to be giving mine away as a present for the 14 year old daughter of a family who've been good to me over the years.

Hey guys and gals.......quick question, Wife and I have ip5's, 16gb with ATT. I see that unlocked phones seem to sell for more money. How do we go about getting them unlocked? Our contracts are up this month and we plan on getting the ip6's, bbut would like to sell the 5's for as much as possible of course. both are mint. sorry if this is a noob question.

Thanks

Traded mine into Apple and got $310, used it to buy the 6 Plus.

you got $310 for a ip5? What size and carrier? Please explain, i'd be happy to do the same instead of the hassle of selling it to somebody :)

Mine wasn't in the best of shape so I was happy to get a no hassle no haggle 200 trading it in for my iPhone 6+

I sold two AT&T unlocked 64gig on craigslist. Both were replacements (because of the sleep wake button) by Apple. First replacement (black) was used for about 6 weeks and sold it for $300. 2nd one (white) was never used and I got $360. I also included with both an otterbox case, a screen protecter (not installed) the box and brand new earbuds, lightening cord and plug. Since they were replacement phones they both had a 90 warranty with them.

If it's two years old then you probably bought it at about launch date, yes? If so then it may be in the batch with faulty batteries and eligible for a free battery replacement from Apple.

I bought my friend's old 5 off him and was hoping it was going to fall into the batch with the faulty battery. I checked the serial and it didn't, but I noticed the screen was lifting on the left side (and the screen colors were wonky when the screen was touched). It was out of warranty over a year, but I took it to apple store and they opened it up and it fell apart with a swollen battery. They replaced the whole phone right there :D

If any of em start having lifting glass, it's worth taking in to just have them check, even when it's out of warranty!

Oh that's quite nice! I bet she will appreciate that a lot!

Sold my iPhone 16 gb white model unlocked with original box for $240, no accessories.

Looking to sell my 32 and 64 gb versions.

I feel like I got a bad price now after reading this haha but here goes... I sold my flawless iPhone 5 64 GB for $300 on eBay. And it was a new replacement after Apple agreed to replace it since the power button on my original iPhone broke and was part of a recall program and the battery was failing too. Apple was kind enough to give me a new replacement which I sold for way too little money apparently ha

2 weeks ago: 300 for 16gb with box and charger. Mint condition.. guy was nice so I also gave him my case and 2 new screen protectors.
