I can function Ok on 6 hours for a few days but then need a 8 hour catch up. I try to get between 7 and 7½ a night.

I find it doesn't matter too much when I go to bed, it's what time I get up. I try to wake up at 6:30 every day, even the ones I don't need too, as I find it easier in the long run.

I typically get about 7 or so hours of sleep. I'm usually in bed by midnight and hit snooze a couple of times before I get out of bed at about 7:30. Gotta love that 30minute commute to work! ;)

Weekends are different though... I have a 10 o'clock rule, this means that nobody is supposed to wake me up or call me before 10 o'clock on the weekends (dire emergencies excluded). Depending on what I've been up to the night before this means I will still probably get 6 to 9 hours sleep.

I used to love my Nokia phone for the timed profiles, you could set it to remain on silent until 10am and then revert to normal :)

Ok, who averages three hours a night? Looks like at least one person does... I'd like to know how.

I have in the past averaged 3 hours per night, sometimes less. I've been battling sleeping issues my entire life, my mother even remembers that as a baby I rarely slept. The thing about getting 3 hours a night is that it is literally killing you slowly; your body basically wastes away. At its worst, my sleeping problems had withered me down to under 100 pounds! Anyone getting less than three hours of sleep at night is basically dying, and needs medical attention.

I actually can't remember most of high school or college because I was in such a daze all the time. I remember it as being as if I was under water, or the world was packed with cotton. I was miserable and nearly suicidal, and as a result I only made one friend during that eight years of my life.

I answered "3-5" because these days, I'm probably averaging about 4.5 to 5 hours of time spent actually asleep, usually waking up two to three times for anywhere from 10 minutes to two hours. I'm also currently not taking any medication, and I haven't been to a doctor/hospital about it for about five years now. I'm hoping to normalize at around 5-7 once I get used to my current schedule.

I usually get between 5-7, usually closer to 5 - 5.5. I generally get up around 8 a.m., but fall asleep anywhere between midnight and 3 a.m. It all depends on how much I stay up reading the MR forums or doing research.

For me probably between 8 - 9 hrs. I am normally in bed by 9 pm during the week (working week) I normally wake up about 5am, 6am really depends, noise wise!

I am a zombie the next day if i don't sleep enough

I guess I am a part of the norm...7 hours is the most I can sleep in any given night. Not too bad, since I feel much better when I wake up the next morning.

Wasn't like that until we got our new mattress...

I did worse than this a while back (I suffered from insomnia) so I hardly used to sleep at all. (The best was the week where me and a work colleague went four days on 3 hrs of sleep in total!

But now I'm back to normal sleep patterns, like other's it depends where I am.

I'm at home tonight so I'll be going to be just after I post this and getting up about 6am, however if I am in a hotel, we usually get to sleep about 3-4am and are up at 6am the next morning for breakfast :(

And then weekends I hardly sleep... Too much :apple: stuff to keep me entertained... ;)

i usually take 2 naps-sleeps a day i will sleep from 8pm- 11pm and then from 3am-6am.

weekends are totally different: fall asleep at 4am and wake up at noon
