Every single day. It's my family's primary source for anything playing on our TV.

Netflix and EyeTV recordings that have been exported to iTunes (from our OTA antenna) cover 90% of the content we watch (both for our kids and for my wife and I).

We do watch live OTA tv for the local news every morning, and once every couple weeks we watch a blu-ray from Netflix. But otherwise everything comes through the Apple TV.

The main reason I originally purchased it was so we could enjoy our photos and home movies (from iPhoto) on the TV. We still use it for that, including shared photo streams so we can see pics and video of our baby niece who lives a ways away.

It's wonderful.

When you said that I thought of face time from the apple tv. I think that would be cool Then your whole family could sit on the couch and face time. It would really make it feel like your there with people.

I use it very little since I haven't found anything really worthwhile. There are just not any really intersting channels on it.

For TV viewing, 99% of my use is from the FIOS TV box.

i rarely use mine now since I got a couple of Smart TV's and was able to download a Plex client for the TV. I have a Plex server running on a MAC mini and use the TV client to access all of my Movies and TV shows. I have no need to airplay movies from a phone since they are all on my Macmini.

The TV does most things that the Apple TV does with a few exceptions that are not of interest to me.

This is not a good solution for most, since you have to acquire new TV's but I was upgrading anyway.

Every day mainly Netflix occasionally buy TV series and/or Movie from iTunes. Also now as an Amazon Prime member Airplay from iPad with Amazon Prime Instant Video app.
When not actively watching TV play all my photos in slideshow with music chosen of Smart Playlist comprised of, all checked songs, 0 plays.

Daily. Netflix, airplay from my iP5. I download a lot of movies and tv shows. If I import them to iTunes then I watch the directly using the computer app on the atv3. If they are still sitting in the folder I download content to, I airplay it from my phone to the tv. I have three ATV3s in my house. I use two of them each day. It is how we watch most of our video content. Still have cable at the moment but may ditch that soon too. Never watch it.

You can airplay amazon prime from your phone or iPad to the tv.

Yup that's what we do, we stream it from my iPad Mini.

Daily.

Since canceling cable 3 years ago it's been our primary media device. We have 3, one on each TV in the house. Used to use a couple of Roku boxes as well, but once MLB.tv and Netflix were added it's been all aTV since.

We also use EyeTV and an OTA antenna in our attic which feeds iTunes with new programs.

It's really a pretty great setup. We're extremely happy with it.

Daily use for me. Netflix, Hulu Plus, HBO Go, & WatchESPN provide most of my TV viewing needs, but I still occasionally find something on one of the other streaming apps. I also use AirPlay regularly to watch movies from my mac or stream content that isn't available on the AppleTV.

There really isn't much I miss having about cable or satellite TV. Between my HD Antenna & my Apple TV, I have more than enough TV options.

Daily. Sometimes several times during the day, from playing music through my home theatre system, to watching TV and movies rented or bought, or streamed from iTunes. It has totally changed the way I use and watch TV.

3 ATVs in this house and they're all used daily. Depending on work shifts etc. there can be at least one running from early morning to late evening.

Mix of iTunes content (Music/TV/Movies), NetFlix and AirPlay.

Apple TV is a seriously underestimated device! Imagine how good it could be if it weren't just treat as a 'hobby'.

I dumped cable tv, just kept the internet. I use my ATV2 for Netflix, and stream my music and DVDs from my iTunes library. I use my Mohu Leaf antenna for OTA tv. I also use AirPlay a lot. I love watching YouTube videos and streaming them to the ATV2 with my iPad or iPhone.

Just about everyday.

I bought the ATV with the foremost idea of mirroring my Mac screen to it, which I don't do a lot so at first I had this buyer's remorse, then a few months back I was watching the America's Cup on youtube and the ATV's youtube widget would not play them right but my Mac did OK and Mirroring saved the day.

Exclusively,
We have a very large iTunes video and audio library.
We also watch Netflix and use a bit of airplay.
We cut the cord a long time ago and the kids, now teenagers, have never had to deal with commercial television.
🙂

Same with us, we cut cable out about 3 years ago. Have several hundred movies and tv shows on my drobo and we use eyeTV recordings or EZTV for any of the OTA stuff we might want. Also use Netflix and now crackle on the ATV daily as well.

this post is exactly what i would say...seems we have found the same ultimate use!!

I use mine all the time but mainly just for airplay audio. It's connected to a receiver with dead analog inputs but the digital inputs all work.

how many of you use a windows PC and media center in conjunction with the Apple TV? I'm trying to make it work but just keep running into issues.

Pretty much every day. Mostly to listen to audio. I don't watch much video. A couple times a week we watch a TV show or movie I rent or buy from iTunes. Also used to watch podcasts on occasion.

When I'm home I done hardly use it. But when I'm in college I use it everyday. Xbmc installed on it lets me watch the TV channels in want to watch that the college doesn't have

We use it everyday. We cut cable three years ago and haven't looked back.
We've got Netflix, Hulu and stream iTunes.

We've got an ATV3 on our main TV and I just replaced my old Xbox360 (canceled Xbox Live in the process) with another ATV3 for the TV in the bedroom (was holding out for a new one but for $100 no big deal).

Next step is to get a Mac Mini and use it as a media server for our home movies and photos. Also going to start ripping our DVDs so I can eliminate the DVD player in our living room.
