Sometimes when I go into Settings on my iPhone 3GS and go into Usage , I'm completely amazed that I have used my iPhone for 5 or 6 hours that day!

I think that can be called addiction lol.

How much do you use your iPhone? do you keep track of the usage figures at all?

I kinda like that feature.

Weirdly enough most of the time my iPhone survives on a single charge :p Do you carry any external battery packs or something though?

Actually no I don't. I have a car charger, charger at work, chargers at home, and I keep a charger with me when I'm out djing. I wish I could make it though a day without a charge.

So I guess you use your iPhone even more then.

Probably 3-4 hours a day. It's ridiculous. I never thought a phone would be so usable and important to me.

I pretty much keep my charger with me everywhere I go, also I use my iPhone everywhere I go. I'm addicted to it and I can't wait for the new hardware and OS 4.0!!:apple:

My average day is 4-6 hours

I would break it down like this:

1hr phone calls
1hr web browsing
1hr on facebook
1hr playing other games/apps/youtube/music/podcasts
.25hr misc. (Maps/directions/weather/news)

My battery goes down to about 20% by 3pm and I recharge off of my laptop or a nearby outlet.

I have a USB car charger, A cable in the bag of my laptop, a charger at work, a charger in my living room, a charging port on my desktop at home, and a charger on my night stand. I use all of them.

And if I'm at a friends house I steal their power!

It's amazing how many places have usb ports, or iPod docs! many many places to charge!

think i average about 10-11 hrs a day, i have music on through out the day and use it for work calls/emails/calender scheduling etc., carry a charger at all times just in case! can't live without my :apple: iPhone!

Not sure what the hours are on my phone since it's playing music, but my iPhone play about 9-10 hours of music for about 5 days of the week. When I'm in my car and at the office, the iPhone get plugged in and start playing the music. Websurfing is about 1 to 2 hours a day. Texting (SMS and IM) is about 5 minutes or less.

I use it enough that the battery would be dead before I left work after a 8-9 hour shift.

I typically throw it on the charger during lunch to charge it back up, and again on the car ride home so that I have enough juice in it to last the night.

Damn 3GS has horrible battery. I remember going all day without any problems back when I had the original iPhone, sometimes 2 days. Ah, the days before apps, lol.

about 10 hours a day

7 hours of those is using the maps.app
the other 3 is using text / phone / facebook / mobile banking

edit: forgot to mention I pretty much use my phone all day in my car, and I have a car charger in there.....after 3 hours of use I have 20% battery left. on 3G

I used it an obnoxious amount of time. As much as I loved it I am glad it is gone. I felt too reliant on it.

Does the usage meter include time that the screen is off but you're listening to music?

I would say I'm on my iPhone for roughly 6-7 hours each day. I am usually streaming ESPN radio or listening to my iPod while at work. Then the same goes for the train to and from work.

I'm also on email all day. So I'm constantly checking my email. (I'm a contractor so while at the client site I use my iPhone to check my company email.)
