just went through and added up my itunes purchase history

$708.98 since 2006 when I bought my first ipod.

thats on apps/songs/tv shows/movies

More than I should. I actually don't want to know. I've been catching myself looking at apps I bought for $4 and never use or need and wondering what I was thinking.

Around $600.

I rarely buy Music, especially when iCoke offers free downloads. I think I spent less than $5.

Music Videos is where most of my money goes, around $400.

Apps. Around $50, $30 was for Lion OSX.

Movies. Only one, HOWARD STERN in PRIVATE PARTS. $10.

TV Shows, is the rest. Most is NFL games.

From MBA, ipad1, 3gs, to ipad3 and 4s. i have spent less than $10, usually wait for the jailbreak or when it's free. :D Most recently I bought iPhoto, I thought it would be something worth the money from the ads. But i'm disappointed with it.... :(

For this thread I have calculated it:
it's €166.17 for Apps (iMac, iPhone, iPad) in one year that I've really paid for.

Luckily I also use three apps that look for discounts and temporaly free Apps or I would have added another €121,19 to the bill.

And I'm going to add another €50 giftcard to my iTunes account this evening...

I think many here would be shocked if they actually calculated it as I am positive they have spent more than they think they did.

I don't get apps unless they are free on sale. I've had an iPhone since 2009 and maybe have spent a total of $15 on apps.

The only pay apps I can remember are plants vs zombies (was on sale for 1.99), crystal defenders (waste of money), garage band, anddddd I think that's all!

If you're cheap and patient and monitor app blogs, you can get lots of quality stuff for free.

I believe I have reached the $300 mark after about 2.5 years.

How much have you spent?

All of us being locked into Apples iTunes content store, are quite obviously controlled by Apple.

Expanding their business model to App Stores only further insures that Apple has a massive number of captive customers.

I've spent an obscene amount of money.

It's just a fact of life, as a long time Apple enthusiast.

About $200-300 I would say in almost 3 years.
Only on apps.

I don't buy my music or books from apple.

Probably $300-$500. I only buy game apps. Most of the apps are worth way more than the $0.99 I pay. Usually get a $50 itunes cards every other month.

Probably around $500 or so. Maybe $600. Originally got a couple of those magical $200 iTunes cards off eBay a while ago. Now I only pick up $100 iTunes cards whenever BB or some other retailer has them on sale. All my purchases have been either apps or music. Never bought a movie (i rip those) or tv shows.

Around $50. Most of it spent on iOS apps, and I have also purchased a few songs on iTunes that I couldn't get anywhere else.

I'm actually quite surprised at how low the numbers are on this thread. I would've thought people would have spent in the thousands in the past few years.

Myself ... I'm afraid to look. Since 2004 or so, definitely more than $1000. How much more, I really don't want to know.

Very interesting! I didn't expect many people to be over 1-200, but man, no wonder apple makes a killing

With a -very- roughly rounded $20,000 from the 45 people in this thread alone.

I just totaled up my spending - since 04/29/05 I have spent $3625.47 USD on music, videos, books, magazines and iPod/iPhone/iPad apps. This also includes about $500 in videos/music/apps that I have gifted to other people. I have purchased quite a few apps for my iPhone/iPad ecosystem but share many of those apps across multiple devices for my wife and son as well - they haven't purchased a thing on their iOS devices.

Remember only 30% (unless Apple's own app/content) is for Apple and that's before Apple has to spend money on maintaining/storing/serving...

Free Apps Are IT!!!!

Dang!! On my 2nd Gen iPod Touch, I dropped 99 cents on one paid app ( Planet Defence ), and nothing more thru 3 years. I did purchase an animation app for my new iPad for $1.99 though. That's it!!

:D:D:D
