I spent $9.99 on my first app, iPeng. Then I went through a period where I was loathe to spend any money, I would rather make do with free apps.

Now however, I have seen sense and realised that apps really are amazingly cheap compared to desktop apps, and now I pay if I think an app is worth it. Since becoming a developer myself I have also realised how much hard work goes into these apps too, which has changed my perspective.

Still, probably spent about $100 in total, and that is in just over a year of ownership.

Let's see...

Angry Birds ($1)
Doodle Jump ($1)
Fruit Ninja ($1)
Ninja Jump DX ($1)
Cut the Rope ($1)

Tetris ($1)
Pac Man ($1)
Pocket God ($1)

Wow, am I the only one that spent in the 4 digits on apps? With all the money you guys spend on Apple products I'm surprised you spend so little on apps. My most expensive app was around $150 and many of my productivity and office apps were $10-$20. I also have an Evernote subscription and I tend to buy all the apps that do a certain thing just to be sure (eg. Shazam and Soundhound). On top of that, I bought most of the featured games since 2008 (in most cases I paid for both the iPhone and the iPad version). When I got the iPad, many apps and books were not available in the Hong Kong store so I got American iTunes cards and downloaded them with an American account. I also use to spend money on social game until I realized people played these for a few months and then completely forgot about them, making my achievements useless. I have also been regularly checking App Shopper since the website launched and bought a lot of discounted apps there. When I got my iPhone 4 stolen without first backing it up on my new computer, one of the things that pissed me off the most was that I had over 50 apps that aren't available on the app store anymore that I will never get again.
