I have 1GB on both my PowerMacs G4, 512mb on my OTHER PM G4 and 512mb on my 2003 15" Powerbook. I have 1GB in my PC.

I'll have 2GB in my Mac Pro so there ya go.

2 GB in Intel 20" iMac

I bought a 20 inch Intel iMac and maxed it out at 2 GB. I have never seen one that would accept more than 2 GB

The iMac's chipset can handle four. Due to the cost of the 2GB modules it many not be feasible. I think the iMac can take 4GB, but I am not going to spend the money to find out.

4.5

I have 4.5 GB in my Powermac. I added 4 GB from OWC to the measly 512MB that shipped with it from Apple. I do a lot of video editing, picture editing and format conversions such as batch processing one to two GB of RAW files into tiff, jpg or photoshop.

I doubt my Powermac has been swapping much!

Dual G5 2.7
4.5 GB RAM
.5 TB RAID 0
Nvidia 6800 GT
23" HD cinema diaplay
a huge UPS
a laser MFC
a dancing hula girl

I still only have 512MB in my Macbook. I want to update, but I'll only do it once. Should I throw in a gig for a total of 1.25GB now, or wait a while and drop the money for two gigs?

Can I have a link to this info?

1 GB in MacBook (2x512 MB). I wonder who besides iGary has 8 GB or greater. He has a Quad with 8 GB RAM! :D
I did have 8 gb in my dual xeon prior to my MBP however needed the money so I sold the risers and 4gb of the ram...

1.25Gb in my Macbook. What a difference from the stock 512Mb!

I had every intention of upgrading to the full 2Gb but for now 1.25Gb seems to be doing the business so I might just save some money and stick with it for the time being.

a 32 bit processor can have up to 4gb of ram, and a 64 bit processor can have up to 16,777,216 terbytes of ram, i think someone correct me if im wrong but isnt it just 2^32 and 2^64...?

On my 3 y/o 17" pBook there's 1.5 gb for the likes of Final Cut Express, Logic Express, and Photoshop 7.

On my year old 12" iBook, my primary machine, I only sprung for 768mb tops, as the only thing it really does is Office 2004, Filemaker 7, and iWork '05. (Maxxed out my previous iBook from 2001 with 640mb, so I figured with similiar apps I didn't need much more than that.)

When my MacBook arrives tomorrow, it will get 2GB RAM installed by me. :)
Same, though my RAM won't arrive for a while, 512MB will have to be enough...

1.25Gb on my Mac Mini(my main Mac) 768 on my iMac G4(it only runs iTunes for me so 768Mb is more then enough) and 512Mb on my iBook, again because does ever few apps(mostly FireFox and iTunes)

I find RAM is over used today, people think they need 2Gb to run Pages, FireFox and iTunes....its nice to have but not need. I think 1Gb should be standard on Macs, because 512Mb vs 1.25Gb(which is alot like 1Gb) is a very different Mac(and when you have a GMA 950, its very more important)

I have 10Gb, but I need it for Mathematica/MatLab and custom physic/math apps.

That said with 10Gb you really start to see how bad the memory leaks are in programs. Take Safari, right now it's using 278mb:eek: and iTunes at 153mb and Azureus at 181mb:eek:

It doesn't affect me but it shows what Apps run well.

512MB in my Macbook, and it's killer :( I'm waiting for the $179 rebate to come in, I really need that money for extra RAM.
