No offense, but if your verbal communication skills are as bad as your written communication skills, you're not going to get a job in an Apple Store.

Why not cut him/her some slack? My guess he/she is ESL.

Could not pay me enough to work Apple retail. I have worked retail on a part-time basis and know I can deal with difficult customers, but Apple retail would scare me. Have never clearly understood the fascination with some people so wanting to work there.

There are two types of Apple retail people. The techies who want to be close to Apple gadgets or retail sales people who happen to work at Apple. I dare say if you are an apple addict then the former is why you'd work at Apple retail. The latter group probably see it as a well paying job with good benefits relative to working at Sears.

Me? If I had to do retail then I'd work in a Microsoft or Sony store given they have no foot traffic!

I can understand the whole ESL thing, but if he/she is a native speaker, then even I'd be wary of this person's ability to perform the duties expected of them. I mean, I wasn't born in the US myself, but I learned English when I was a child. Though I did go to a private school then.

Anyway, my experience with Apple sales reps in the past has been sour. The Geniuses (in name only), weren't too bad.

This. You've gotta have a thick skin and know how to handle people in-role. You certainly don't stand around watching customers croon over shiny toys all day.
