I don't drink coffee, but I do drink tea. There are 5+ better coffee shops than Starbucks within walking distance of my place. No way in hell would I be caught in a Starbucks.

If I have to bring work home, I do like to go to one of the local non-corporate cafes in my 'hood.

I've actually spent a considerable amount of time these past two weeks. Reason being that my internet was down at home. Fortunately, I got it back up & running, so I now rarely visit.

Starbucks went out of business where I live. We have Sheetz gas stations which kill Starbucks.

I love Sheetz....I think I will go there now actually.

Never been to a Starbucks--coffee is fine at home. :D

I agree; I have a french press and that makes the best cup of coffee in the world. Plus, you can use it to froth the cream/milk once the coffee is made. Nothing beats it.

Never. If I am working I want to be in a quiet environment. I don't even like bringing my laptop to my office. It's just a huge distraction and keeps me from my readings. I'm pretty sure none of the other grad students in my program like going to a loud, busy coffee shop to read either.

Interesting. I need noise to focus. At work, I'll have friend who's not busy come to my desk and talk to me while I work. It might sound crazy, but I get a lot done that way.

Same for me. I like to have things going on around me. Like an atmosphere otherwise I have difficulties to focus. We are both gifted maybe leekohler :D

I don't drink coffee. It bugs me people sitting in starbucks with their laptops sipping away at their ...whatever you call them in the starbucks world. Costa is the place to go, their hot chocolates are nice :)

Well, recommending Costa definitely affirms that you don't drink coffee. By a long way they make the worst coffee of any of the UK chains.

Sheetz????? When I go back home to VA for visits, it seems that the only purpose for Sheetz to exist is for teenagers to hang out in the parking lot on Friday and Saturday nights.

Never worked from a coffee shop or anything like that.

Had to work a couple of days from an EasyHotel room in London once, though, on a project that suddenly became very urgent because of stuff way beyond my control (ie. the competence of a (now ex-) co-worker), and since then I've developed an aversion against working from other places than an office or - if needed - the comfort of my own home...

I don't spend money on crappy coffee I can make at home for significantly cheaper.

I do my work at work or at home and in rare cases a library.

I don't need the attention of being "that guy" at starbucks.

2/hrs/day on 3 weekdays, and generally as much of the weekend as possible with my buddies. The coffee is brilliant, despite what anyone says. Just chilling with my mac, luke and his vista (boo) laptop, and tom. Whose macbook pro just died
