Well it's fun to speculate, and hopefully we won't have long to wait.

Chances are that we are both wrong. I think you are most likely to be pleasantly surprised, and I am likely to be disappointed!

We'll meet again in this thread when they're released and have a follow-up discussion =)

Or if they aren't we can have fun watching the "Apple only cares about iPod/iPhone debate" :D

Anyway, my guess is that they'll got back to iBook pricing ($999 for base model, which most of us can get currently regardless).

:D Been lurking 24/7 and reading so many conflicting rumours (forgive the English splelling).

All very confusing, but at the moment I'm leaning this way because it all sounds so convincing to me:

Less than an hour and a half to go!

Indeed, some of these rumors have confused rather than enlightened me, but alas, just a short while yet and we'll know. I'm admittedly exited, even though I'm by far not in the market for a mac at the moment! I suppose it's also the other companies reactions to what Apple brings out that I'm looking forward to following up on.
Out of curiosity.. are you considering? :)

Sadly yes, even though I neither need nor can really afford another computer. It's a sickness you know.

Damn Apple, they keep taking my money! :D

Haha well I definitely feel you on that one...the enticing sparkle of brand new tech :D So, what Apple products do you call your own up to now? "Only" the ones in your sig? And which of the revised products will you be considering? Or is it too early to ask

Yes, basically the ones in my signature (the oldest of which is the MBP bought in June last year) but there are also 2 white MacBooks in the family which I enjoy using.

Quite fancy a 15" MBP or even a high spec MB to add to the collection.

I will try to resist, but it depends on how impressive the new offerings are!

Ha ha! Based on your sig you're right, you certainly don't NEED anything else from Apple, you've got all the bases covered. Good, more Macs available for the rest of us, I need a notebook, I don't have one.;)

Ah so all of your technology is new and shiny yet!

If you're right about the prices for the MB's dropping (which I still haven't changed my mind on, by the way =D), you may be able to get yourself more than one new machine today :D

Insulin, you were out by £1 - go stand in the corner :p

Jeez, that's a hike in price over the previous model. Hmm, £807 is currently $1409, so $120 pre-taxes mark-up on the US price for the UK (only £20 mark-up against France's pre-tax € price).

Ugh, missed the party. Sorry I had to go lie down earlier I felt like **** all of a sudden. Yeah the joys of being type 1 diabetic. Those machines look gorgeous, too bad about the pricing, but hell. I hope CD's still going to get himself one of those!

@CD3660: Let me know which, if ever you're gonna go for one =) What do you think of them?

@Samwise: Was it only a one pound miss? I thought I was off by more. Well I'm glad they're finally out, means all that speculation can stop.

I'm totally liking the black rim around the screen.

They look gorgeous, and I'd bet that they feel really top quality as well (like my MBA).

My initial reaction is huge disappointment on the price front which may make me hesitate for a while, but I wouldn't mind replacing my MBP for a top end 15" MBP in due course!

I just need to stay away from the Apple Store otherwise I might succumb to temptation!

The US Store is up!

The new pro is awesome indeed. I'm loving the 2.8Ghz option... that's gotta give you a nice kick in speed.

If I was in the market for one I'd be so tempted to just get them now while all the hype's on... but it's probably best to hold off for a while and read reports of the problems the early adopters are having.

And yes, I'm not impressed with the prices at all. Well I suppose those distinction fanatics will like it...
