In norway you pay $10-12 for a beer at the average pub, fancy clubs are more expensive.
A glass of whisky is starting at $17.
The cheapest wine starts at $40 on a restaurant and expect to pay at least twice as much if you want a decent one..

does anyone buy shots for the taste? I always just assumed that it is a method to get drunk quickly or if not drunk, to the point where your little "inner good self" starts to say ah screw it.

I remember I once had a cup of rum with dinner. Thought to myself, let me savior it, spread it out. I think shots would have been better after all haha.

I will do a shot and it has to be pretty top shelf stuff for me to bother. I don't do it to get drunk. If I want to get drunk I'll go a much cheaper route.

I think I've paid upwards of $10 for a cocktail, $12 for a beer (concert), and somewhere around $9 for a glass of wine.

I paid $10 for a pint of Guinness when I was in Vegas once. I was at a convention, and had some down time, so I wandered around playing tourist. I went into one of the casinos, and saw that lovely tap behind the bar, so I ordered one without bothering to ask prices. OUCH! I also paid $20(maybe $25) for a glass of the Macallan 18 yr. old.

$15 a pint in Singapore. There are cheaper places and crazy / happy hours but basically alcohol is expensive here and you get used to the prices over time.

My local charges $13.50 for a pint of London Pride and $11 for a pint of Stella. I'm happy to pay the difference for Pride.

Some of them are good that I have had, usually with some fruit names. But I guess the end goal is to drink quickly, but it doesn't always have to be straight alcohol.

The cajun rattlesnake is one that comes to mind and an Irish Car Bomb, although its quite a large shot!

$5-$8 for a beer. But I don't drink the crap like bud or miller. So I expect to pay just a tad more. I have spend 20 bucks on a bottle of limited edition Sam Adams Chocolate Stout. That was for the home thou. Man was it soooooooo good.

Depends on the locale, my limits increase depending. Around here you can get wells for 2-2.50. Beers are about the same. Overall I don't really care how much they are as long as I am having a good time.

Vegas is a money pit if you like the drinks.
