How much Xmas bonus have you received?

I get nothing. Never gotten a bonus there. But we do get a full week off paid, so maybe that counts.

My dad on the other hand, works a part time job at Menards. They give their employees 10% of their yearly earnings as a bonus! Menards people!! I couldnt believe it. He just works there part time as he's retired from his former career, and uses this for a little supplemental income. But he cleared about $1500 simply by going to work through the year.

I realize alot of companies may pay better bonuses, but alot (like mine and many other in this thread) dont give any bonus. Makes you really feel appreciated doesnt it?? 🙄

When you get your bonus, do you thank your boss for it afterwards? In a large organization like mine, sometimes it is difficult to know whom to thank as I don't know how the bonus is distributed to the employees. When I thanked my immediate boss for the bonus for this year (I think the company has allowed the highest percentage to my case), he said I deserved it.

work for myself. dont do christmas bonus. I pay myself a small fixed salary and anything extra gets put into the bank to pay for business costs & for the drought times when no work comes in for a couple of weeks during the year and I'm hit by big insurance bills.

as long as there's food in my fridge, bills are paid and roof over my head and a bit of spare to spend on treats here and there, I'm happy. 🙂

At least you would be taking my tax payer's contribtuion to town (if I lived in CT😀) through your regular pay.

I want less tax🙂 (so that I can keep it to myself).

It seems getting Christmas bonus is partially based on the industry or profession you are in. So far, by looking at this thread, the contractors (per project base jobs) and arts/graphic design fields are not generous in giving out the bonus. What do you think?

EDIT: Self Employed is also the main profession which does not give out bonus.

I work in IT for a large computer company, and we got a performance bonus.
