Once. I felt iTunes playing for hours, I only had 45% left when this happened too.

I am picking a new ipad up when I go over to vegas. I am hoping it will last the flight home (about 11 hours) with watching films and playing some games, is that feasible?

possible with 25% backlight, i think.

Never.

I do not run out of battery, then again that might be due to the fact I use it as a portable office for quick edits and so forth. Alas, when my friends get on it the battery seems to just give up after a couple of hours.

I had a day off last week with the whole house to myself and ended up on the couch using my iPad for about 5 straight hours. In that time, I watched two shows I had downloaded from iTunes, streamed a 45 minute podcast over wi-fi, read a LOT of news, surfed a little bit, etc. When all was said and done, I had over 50% battery, and even after doing some reading on it that same night, I was still well above 50%.

So, I find it a struggle to wear down an entire iPad charge in one day. You would have to be actively using it for most of the day.

I frequently run out in one day. I use it a lot, and with brightness at 100%. Recently I have been plugging it in when I use it at a desk so that it I can keep it charged and not have to worry about it. I like to keep it charged in case anything comes up where I will use it a lot.

what happens after the 1-year warranty(or 2-year AppleCare) runs out and the battery starts to last less than 5 hours a day? how much will it cost to get the battery replaced, or do they not do that?

Thanks! :)

As far as I'm concerned, battery replacements from Apple are £100 here in the UK. Typically, if your battery health is under 80%, your battery life will decrease (i.e. it will last around 7-8 hours instead of 10). But most people will probably sell their iPads and get an updated one long before their battery health decreases to an unusable state.

Most people would sell their iPads before it becomes unusable? That doesn't make sense logically. For every iPad seller, there must be a iPad buyer, so just as many people will be buying used iPads with decreased battery health.

If you're a gamer and watching lots of videos, you can run out of battery even in 12 hrs.

Did you hear what I said? I said "long before" it becomes in an unusable state meaning many people will probably sell their iPads and get the new one (iPad 3,4 etc.) BEFORE the battery health goes too bad (preferably under 80%).

Personally, for me, I would sell my iPad and get the new one when it launches, the battery health may be good or may be bad - it will be sold either way.

The first two days I got it, when I was pretty much using it constantly and testing it out. Not so much anymore.

never. It always takes me at least 3 days to drain it. I try to get it to under 10% before I recharge. I watch netflix browse, and play games like infiniti blade and NFS
