On my initial full charge from the night I got it, I got 4 full days out of my battery. I turned my iPad off the night before the last day so I would be sure to have enough power to read at lunch.

I turn it on when I use it, I turn it off when I'm done with it. I don't want to have to worry that it's technically on in sleep mode...

I rarely turn mine off unless its having troubles and needs to be restarted.
I see no other reason to turn it off.

I turn mine off every night. Like to start off with a clean reboot every day. It's a good idea to reboot it every so often because sometimes background processes get stuck.

One time an app got stuck and used up all of my 3G data in 3 days and I didn't use the iPad practically at all.

Always a good idea to occasionally turn it off to avoid possible issues.

I don't really power down, but I usually reboot if an app I commonly use gets an update, or after installing a new app. There are some apps where the developers recommend rebooting after installing/updating... so I made that a habit.

Me too

I'd encourage weekly shutdowns. A Genius told observed that some errant backgrounding apps can be remedied with a reboot.

This was more true last year. The current iOS build seems far more reliable. I still bounce it every month or so.

First Sunday of each month I max out a number of power-using options on my devices (iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch) and let them run out of power and turn off on their own. I then charge them fully. It's the only time I power them off unless it's acting really goofy and needs a reboot (and that is usually just my iPhone).

Nope, never had to turn mine off. You can keep it in the "on" mode for as long as you like. Of course, if you ever run into recurring and frequent issues like crashing apps or something going wonky, you could try to remedy the situation by rebooting.

The thing I love about the iPad 2 and also my older iPod touch is how infrequent I need to reboot it, compared to regular computers. The iOS software and apps are so well integrated and managed that typical issues we see on computers we don't see on iOS devices (at least for me). LOVE IT!

Turn mine off each night just to refresh the memory. It's not a big deal to me to use standby-only for a few days as long as all apps remain snappy.

I only turn mine off if I'm low on power, and I need as much power as possible within a few hours (turning it off lets it charge faster.)

I've never turned it off but I guess I'll reboot tonight. Why..well .. just because of this thread.
