While all models had some improvement nothing enticed me to upgrade from my series 0. Still working fine. Would be a waste to throw it out.

Have you replaced the battery? I loved my S0 but by the time it was 2.5 years old it barely lasted me until teatime. When factoring in what I could sell it for, it was almost the same cost to get the battery replaced than to just buy a new Series 3.

Not yet - but you’re right, battery replacement with Apple stuff is often rather steep financially. I’m a bit disappointed that the current model doesn’t perform better than mine in that area. At least 2-3 between charges would be great.

I’m currently trialing SleepWatch. It’s the first Apple Watch sleep tracking app I’ve used. I’ve used it for 2 nights so far.
'PILLOW' did not work at all for me thus far, whilst sleep cycle worked for a year without any problems on the previous watch, 'PILLOW' then looked so nice and had a discount on the annual subscription - so I went for it and now I' stuck for two more months, likely shifting back to 'Sleep Cycle', but it would be nice to hear how your trial was going when it's done! ☺

Still using my S0. Wont upgrade until Apple release music software that restores the functionality that was taken away with (IIRC OS 3 or 4). It's insane that you can't scroll through a playlist from your phone and choose the track that you want as opposed to it starting automatically and only with the first track.

It's wayyyy too expensive to replace every year or two. I jumped on the Apple Watch wagon with the series 4, and have no expectation or intention of replacing it until it's at least three years old. Hopefully not for another year or two after that.

Bought AW0 and AW3 brand new in box, 1/2/4/5 all used off ebay. The resell market on watches just isn't good. So upgrading is fairly easy with some patience. Again assuming you just want a sport model, may or may not come with a band/charger/box. Same goes for the upcoming release, no reason to purchase day 1.

I'm still using the original battery in my series 0. It seems to run out just a little before I would like it (i.e. half an hour before bedtime) and occasionally it runs out as early as 8 or 9pm. We're not currently allowed to go to gyms but when was was a regular attender I definitely needed to charge the Watch during the day to get to the end of the day.

I went from Series 2 > Series 5. Was originally skeptical about value / use, so didn't jump on right away. Got to understand the value of having one with that first Series 2, but used it until it really started to feel slow and laggy. Liked the Series 5 always-on feature.

I’ve been using this one. Pretty decent.

Well, I will update once the thing is able to do roaming. (My journey thus far was 3, then 4, bought a 5 for my grandmother & we still can not figure out the weird on/off display (some point in settings is the same as for ser4, but the new display makes that setting dysfunctional, which shows too little attention to detail - happens too often lately imho)

Regarding my wishlist for the future of Apple Watch - I can only refer you to my earlier remarks with regard to that;

Did you try any of the available sleep tracking apps?
(I'm currently subscribed to 'PILLOW' - previously to 'Sleep Cycle')

I’ve been using AutoSleep for 2 years now and love it!I want native sleep tracking, so I hope we get it this year.

I am still using a Apple Watch Edition series 2 and a aluminium series 3, I am currently looking at upgrading to the series 5

I upgrade every year and pass down the previous version to my daughter. Her older version is then traded in to Apple.

I didn’t buy a watch until S3, enjoyed it so upgraded to an S4 about 18 months later for the bigger screen size. Sat out the S5, as the AOD wasn’t a big deal for me. Might go S6, depends on the features. I use it everyday, so £400ish every couple of years isn’t a big deal for me (I also managed to sell my S3 last time for a good price).

I received a SS Series 0 with Milanese Loop band as a birthday gift shortly after launch. I upgraded to an aluminum S5 early this year. My upgrade strategy is defined by the intersection of two curves: the rising trend of features and capability of new models, and the falling trend of compatibility and battery life of the old model.

There's an additional variable: the price premium of the stainless steel models makes me likelier to delay an upgrade. Having switched to aluminum, I'll upgrade sooner than I did after my S0, if the new features and capabilities keep coming.

For me, the S0's battery started weakening late in 2019 and by 2020 was struggling to make it through some days. Replacing the battery was a comparatively cheap ($80) option, but I wanted the extra functionality of the later models, including the S5 cellular model's ability to summon help in emergency situations worldwide. As one who travels internationally a lot (at least in normal times!), that is a great thing. And I wanted compatibility with iCatcher app in particular so I could listen to podcasts and audiobooks without my phone nearby, and valued the extra storage on the S5 for that reason. So: sale! And I'm loving the S5. Amazing device, and now possibly my favorite gadget.

I still have my S0 and wear it daily as my S5 charges. I always have a Watch on. It monitors my sleep and it serves as my wake-up alarm.

I just wish the aluminum models had a sapphire screen option. I'd pay a bit extra for that.

When there is a big enough reason to, so far I've gone from a S2 to a S4 and I can imagine I will get a S6, especially if ceramic is still an option.
