Doubt Siri could hear me in a manufacturing facility where it's a bit loud. Not gonna happen. lol

Plus, don't you have to be able to touch the watch to activate Siri anyway? Kinda makes the point moot if so. I don't have my watch yet, but if it's anything like with the phone then Siri isn't all that useful anyway....she's very hard of hearing in my experience.

People have said that Siri seems to work better for them on the watch. (can't say myself as I'm still waiting). No, you don't have to touch the watch to activate Siri - you say "Hey Siri" :)

If I were you, I'd order one and try it out. You have 14 days (and it looks like that's business days, not calendar days) to try it out and return it if it's not for you. Apple's been very cooperative with people doing this, as it's a new category.

Oh...and on the thread topic. I think there will be many updates - at least for the first little while. This is a 1.0 product. There will be lots of bug fixes and little features coming that couldn't quite make the launch window.

I do have one on order and it's currently scheduled to be delivered on Tuesday. Went PFS Friday night/Saturday morning after the first couple of planes landed that night. Just waiting on the shipped notification.

As far as using Siri goes for my purposes at work...like I said it can be quite noisy there with welding and grinding going on all around me. Plus a lot of times we have a 400 Hz generator making a ton of noise right next to where I have to stand to perform the test I'm describing, and it takes about 5-10 minutes to coast down. This along with the fact that trying to use voice commands on something that I might have to start and stop repeatedly in the case of a test failure and retry after making corrective actions would get very tedious. It's much easier to just be able to look at the watch to get it to do what I need it to do.

Regardless 1.0 of any product is never perfect for everyone.

I don't think he was saying those missing features were bugs. He was stating examples of some missing features he would like to see, and then said there were also bugs that need to be ironed out.

Sorry, but this point has been beaten to death already. Seeing seconds displayed is incredibly useful for a number of reasons; just because you don't see the need for something doesn't mean it doesn't exist.

I would like to see an AM/PM indication no digital faces when using 12 hour clocks. Don't think there is one.

Not sure, but I'm wondering if Facebook and the other conspicuously absent one, LinkedIn may be waiting for an update. Facebook could possibly be a native app and maybe that's why we still haven't seen an official app...

..other theories are that Apple have said 'No adverts on the wrist' (I ****** hope so :D) and they aren't interested.

Anyway, a hotfix isn't out of the question, field testing is one thing but they may want to bring forward some of the features/fixes on the version that they are working on.
