46, so Stone Age I guess...LOL
Here is my take on the cost...
The iPhone data plan is now the same as the BlackBerry and other Smart Phone plans.
If you are "used" to those plans and costs, then the iPhone plan only makes sense - why should it be cheaper.
If you are coming from a "normal" Cell phone experience, then you have never seen data plan costs, and you are going to probably be upset over the cost.
If you are coning from the previous iPhone, then your costs are going up $10-$15/month, and you are probably struggling with whether or not it is worth it - especially if you don't have 3G in your area.
All of the Cell phone add-on's are expensive - texting, data, etc. Most of us are not used to the data costs, so it is a bit of a shock.
Kind of like when we all went from paying $19.95 for AOL dialup to $45.99 for broadband. Hard to swallow at first, but over time it becomes a necessity.
Unfortunately all of the cell phone companies plans are similar, so there isn't any real competition. Sprint is losing market share, and is starting to offer lower cost plans, but we will have to see if AT&T tries to compete.
Since no one else has the iPhone, I'm skeptical that we will see any changes.
The only reason for AT&T to lower the costs, is to try to lure in people who won't consider the iPhone because of the Data plan.
Personally, I would have rather they left the purchase price at $399, and kept the lower monthly cost....
