2 Month old AWU, like new still (hope that doesn’t jinx it).

Launch day S7 SSS Hermes, like new (though I regularly use a cape cod cloth on it)

My old SSG S5 I gave to the wife in 2021 when I got the Hermes and it was flawless then. Up until a month ago it had tiny scratches on the case, not too bad, but I noticed - though no one else would. Battery hit 79% and was replaced last week under AppleCare + and is now brand new again.

My 'main" watch is a Graphite Stainless Steel that I bought used pre-scratched.

Don't wear a milanese loop unless you have to! It'll scratch up your watch no matter the case.

If it's any consolation, though, I do have a launch day Series 0 that I bought open box and unactivated a while back that's still flawless.

Wore a Series 4 every day since purchasing it, had minimal scratching on the body, but the screen was still excellent. Upgraded to the Ultra on release, flawless through lake & pool swimming along with daily use.

Ultra, not a scratch, but don’t think I’ve ever scratched an AW. Ironically, the Garmin DLC Felix’s I’ve owned looked like I sandpapered them and the Titanium one’s definitely look aged too.

Been using S6 for over three years, it’s in pretty good condition. No visible scratches.

Still have my S5 which works relatively well. Still get 1 day's worth of charge even when using the fitness app. Battery health is down to 85% so nearing time to get a battery replacement for $79 instead of buying a newer model. Always kept inside a case which takes the brunt of daily use. Finding an OEM 44mm sport loop is getting harder and more expensive as the 3rd party band versions are cheap and flimsy.
If Apple ever releases a future iWatch with a blood pressure sensor, that would be a quick buy upgrade.
You’ll be pleased to hear the 45mm bands are compatible with 44mm watches.

AW 4 SS 45 mm from October 2020 replaced with AC+ in December 2020 for red dots software bug. Since summer 2021 I use it most of the time only during physical activities (last month for running with lte option) and for sleep monitoring (rest of the time I use a mechanical watch). Battery life is good, some microscratches by original milanese loop on the case.

Went from a Series 0 to a Series 4 and then a Series 7 that I got a really good deal on. I would have probably kept the 4 a little longer as it was working just fine. The 7 is also the 45 mm that I have noticed a few minor scratching on and I think it is because of the larger size, I seem to hit it on more things than the 41.

S5 white ceramic bought at launch, worn every day all day except in the shower. Looks flawless but haven't examined it with a magnifying glass. Sent in for battery replacement 18 months ago and got back a unit with a different serial number (same condition). As of now this one has 84% battery health and just barely lasts a 16 hour day. I'll replace this battery too and continue doing so as long as possible, or until they make a new white ceramic.

S4 aluminum since Nov 2018. Accumulated minor scratches on the screen over the years. Battery health at 98%, which seems unbelievable given the age of the watch, but I get through a day of normal usage (notifications, 45 min workout) with 65-70% charge remaining.

Sadly, last week my watch slipped out of my hand while wiping it down after doing some yard work, landing in a porcelain sink. Shattered the corner, leading to a crack on the diagonal!

While it couldn’t have been worse timing knowing a refresh is right around the corner, I still decided to pick up an S8 this week on Amazon Prime Day, scoring $160 CAD off! Hoping the S8 will last me another 4+ years!

Currently wearing my AW Ultra which has wear and tear scratches but i wear it 22 hours a day.
Skateboard, paintball, cycle and swim with it on the daily/weekly basis. Like my AW4 i intend to use it for a four year span, before replacing it with the AW Ultra 4 by that time.

I am still using a Series 4 (44mm aluminum, Space Gray), and it's in reasonably good shape. There are some small scratches on one corner of the crystal that aren't visible when the screen is on, and the body is still fine as well. The battery is at 82% health, and makes it through most days unless I have been doing a long hike or other lengthy workout, in which case I might need to top it off on a charger for a few minutes in the evening.

I just installed the WatchOS 10 Public Beta on it, and am fairly pleased with it so far.

I imagine I'll be buying a Series 9 in the fall, or perhaps a Series 8 on clearance if the updates aren't worth the price premium, but I've gotten quite decent value out of this watch - I've replaced my iPhone and Mac since 2018, but the watch is still chugging along.

Using a AW7 in Graphite SS . Got it brand new 3 weeks ago on a great deal locally. Micro scratching on top and bottom of the watch. I can feel some of them by running my nail over it, just from general use being very careful. no idea how they happen? but its a watch it will scratch eventually.

S5 from launch. The battery is going and it’s scratched to buggery. Put a 1cm scratch on the crystal on the second of use, when I clobbered the lane ropes in the pool. Might upgrade to an S9 this year.

S8 bought close to launch. Have it in a case, but no screen protector this time. No noticeable scratches on the screen. The case I'm using has a slight raised edge, which seems to somewhat protect the screen from impact.

I've always kept my watches in cases and screen protectors, and have been trading them in every other year to upgrade. They've always been deemed to be in perfect condition when inspected during trade-in.

I have (had) a series 0. It's still flawless, and has been handed down, first to my partner, and more recently her mother, and is in daily use.

I also have (had) a series 6. Also flawless, and has been handed down to my partner, and is in daily use.

Lastly, I have a series 8. Also flawless, I use it daily.

Now, the reason my partner took over my series 0, was that - at the time - I wasn't really using it, so when her own series 0 one day said "piooooong" and and just dismanteled itself (probably caused by an inflating battery), she took over mine. Then again, when I upgraded - somewhat frivolously - from the 6 to 8, she could get the 6 and let her mother "inherit" the series 0.

S4 Hermes, still mint, S6 space black steel, still mint, S7 midnight blue aluminium has a nasty scratch on the case above the crown, I've tried to wear a case on it, but I prefer to wear the watch as it is. I won't by aluminium again as it just scratches easily and once the paint comes off, you can see the damage really easily.

Got an Apple Watch Ultra back in September and it was flawless… right up until I underwent a bicycle crash. In addition to a (badly) broken bone, the Watch got scratched up from being dragged across the tarmac.
Did the screen survive?
(Get well soon)

Sounds like the curse of the milanese loop!

SBTi 7 , pretty flawless due to the DLC, however, the battery health is now 83% which is a bit concerning, hopefully it will drop to 80% before the warranty expires this November🤞

I have the SS S8, which I bought at launch.

I have been very protective of it, and it’s flawless.

How about you?

I realised I replied my S7 was in pristine condition a few days back. It can’t power on since yesterday. It shut down on its down midway during my swimming session and it got so hot an hour later - to the point where I couldn’t even hold it in my hands. I’m not exaggerating.

I’ve always been sceptical when people say their devices got too hot to even to touch it but I’ve experienced it. It’s a scary situation. My view towards Apple now is dependent on how they will handle my lifeless S7 when I bring it down to service in the coming days.

I have the Watch 6. It does everything I need, face is a bit scratched, but right now I do not see a need to upgrade.. Maybe if they upgrade what the sensors do, maybe... I am 76 for all practical purposes, diabetic, I would like to see the SPO2 work better, or a blood glucose sensor (I hear that is years away. They have the tech but making it smaller is the issue). The only advantage of getting a newer one is a larger size IF the sensors are better. BUT the 6 works. My wife has my old 4 and it works too.
