The 17 inch models have nearly a 100% failure rate on the original LCD, starts out with one line then progresses until 70% of your screen is either flickering or lines. That being said its a decent price with shipping, that model was my first intel Mac and served me well in late 2012 early 2013. Of course snow leopard as a once snappy and respectable version of OS X is becoming dated by the day and finding a decent web browser is difficult. These older intel models don't have the cult appeal of PowerPC macs so I wouldn't expect that much fan support.

I suggest you look at this video to better understand the shortcomings of this Mac (if you really care, otherwise its a decent price)

i thought the first Macs in 2006 went bad due to the Radeon X1600 GPU they used? The late 2006 models, like the one she linked, should be ok because the use the less powerful, yet more reliable Intel GMA 950 iGPU.
