Just asked ChatGPT, it almost agreed!Bumper cases offer almost no drop protection. It may seem like the corners are protected, but they’re not. You need a dual layer case like the one pictured earlier for any safety.
Just like a bicycle helmet, you need two layers. With one layer, you’ll end up cracking something.

LOVE your avatar.I've been hooked on Pitaka cases now for several years. It's not quite as frameless as this but it offers very little protection. I haven't dropped my phone in a long time.
Those who do drop their phones or have kids, I usually point them to Spigen Tough Armor cases.
I'm surprised how many people I know want to go caseless and/or use their phone with a minimalist case today. Several people I know went Totallee and really like it.
That said, phones seem to be a lot more durable today than before. AppleCare+ and enjoy - that's what I do.
My most favorite Twilight Zone episode growing up. Huge reader here. Would love to have all the time in the world to read. lol. Of course that ending...LOVE your avatar.

I can't tell if this is a piece of cement or a brick? It’s a compromise you have to make as you cannot have a naked to the touch case and full protection. You have to look at your own lifestyle and assess whether or not your phone would be safe in its current case.

This is my case which obviously makes the phone a little heavier and bulkier but does provide full protection and peace of mind. I have had 2 bad drops, once on a hardwood floor and once on a concrete pavement and the phone, and the case, is still in pristine condition.

Yup. And here’s the secret: phones break less often when we attach protection! They are srangers but they have experience of using iPhone and that's what this forum meant for, to exchange ideas
You must be rich 😂Never use a case is what I suggest. But if you must, use something as minimal as possible.
And a case is a form of insurance. Everyone needs to assess their level of ‘coverage’ they feel comfortable with. For me, a basic/standard Spigen case along with a screen protector meets my needs so much so that I have not purchased AppleCare + for almost 10 years and it’s been alright. I put out about $25 for the case and screen protector and save $130 (or whatever it costs these days) by not purchasing AC+.There is no absolute safety. The iPhone is a tool to be used, at least to most. You will replace it in x amount of years. It’s not meant to stay forever.
I never mind if you send mail-in-iPhone, ofcourse with full caseCan I send a mail-in ballot? 🤣🤣
I like Apple’s silicone cases. Grippy. Never dropped, though. Might see some damage if dropped.
