That's BS. Just because your phones always have scratches doesn't mean that's the case for *everyone.*

Sorry to break it to you, buddy, but my phone's screen has no scratches. I use a screen protector.

How the heck did she manage to do that?? I have medium to long nails most of the time and they don't scratch the screen with normal use.

Also, how do you have no scratches when "most of the time", your "medium to long nails" (which I think you should trim) "don't scratch the screen with normal use". So sometimes, your nails scratch the screen when you're normally using your phone?

The fact that this thread has had mixed responses... Some screens scratched and some not only means that the iphone really do need a screen protector as it can definitely get scratched. End of discussion.

How scratch resistant is the 5s screen? Do I need a screen protector?

1) That wasn't my point. My point was, you can't generalize and say that everyone who doesn't use a screen protector ends up with a scratched screen. It's simply not true.

2) Read what I said again instead of misquoting me. I said I have medium to long nails most of time. I did not say that "most of the time they don't scratch the screen." My nails NEVER scratch the screen. I don't type with the very tip of my thumb, I type with a part of my thumb that is further down. Perhaps some people type differently, but with the way I touch the screen my nails do not get in the way.

I haven't gotten my 5s yet but I used to be a 4S user and am now using a GS4 while waiting for the 5s to ship. I had a protector on my 4S but don't have one on the S4 and it's doing fine. For the 5s, I bought AppleCare+ so I'm planning on going naked without a case and protector and see how it goes.
