I am on the latest public version of Watch OS. Breathe reminders still do not work consistently (since Watch OS 4). How the heck has this not been resolved it seems so simple!

Are your Breather reminders still not working as well, or is it just me?

Mine aren't working either lol. I get them sporadically. But I don't mind cuz I really don't have time to do them, and when I have my heart rate doesn't change, cuz I get nervous thinking about my heart rate and it goes up. lol.

Not working here as well and to boot, now my activity completion (ring) notifications are now not working since 4.2.... even after a erase and restore from backup!!!

Ok, I got one last night, and did the session. I was notified this AM. Perhaps it only notifies you if you did your last session? Is this a formal change? Seems like that would promote not using it.

My Breathe reminders are also broken. Was hoping it would be fixed in 4.2, but no luck. I find it very frustrating as I quite liked getting these sort of reminders.

I currently have mine set to 10 times a day (not that I want to be reminded that often; just trying to force these notifications to appear). The last time I had a reminder was Sunday, when I received 2 in the space of 3 hours. These were the first I'd had since the previous Sunday.

I don't know why this isn't a) being addressed by Apple or b) being complained about more, i.e. on a larger scale.
Makes me wonder if the problem isn't widespread. However, the only two other people I see regularly with an Apple Watch are having similar issues, so this would point to it being fairly common.

Is there anyone out there that consistently gets regular Breathe reminders?

Ok... Just got off the phone with Senior Advisor... they are having me send in my watch for replacement... looks like a faulty install of 4.0 caused an issue. Good luck to all!

I got one this morning, will I get another? I did wonder if it could be something to do with the siri face? I do get breathe cards there.

I am wondering if the breathe notifications are more tied to heart rate and stress level. I have noticed that when I get them I am actually feeling a little more stressed and they prove very useful. Has Apple ever documented how they are generated (basic schedule, bio-metric based, etc...)?

I have the opposite problem "breath" is annoying as hell so turned it off yet I still get a notification randomly.
Don't need a reminder to breath I can figure that one out on my own.

Not sure if it has anything to do with heart rate or Siri as you can go into the watch app and set it to how many times per day it will remind you to breathe. I had mine set to 10 times per and rarely got a reminder to breathe. It just doesn’t work as it should.

I found this on the apple site:

"If a reminder coincides with an event in your calendar, like a meeting, if you're moving or exercising, or if you start a session on your own, your Apple Watch reschedules your reminder. You’ll get the reminder a short time after your event is over or you stop moving."

Could this be why we're not getting reminders? This makes it sound like if you have ANY event in your calendar or you aren't sedentary, you won't receive the reminder. That seems crazy to me since I thought the purpose was to remind you to stop and take a break to breathe. Why do I care if I'm completely sedentary or sleeping??? And I have events on my calendar all day every day-like many people do! If this is a new thing, I hope they change it back to how it was.

I have had mine set to the maximum breathe reminders per day and would only receive reminders a few times per week even if sedentary for hours. I got annoyed with it and turned it off.

Thanks to all for the feedback.

That seems weird, too many people are not getting them and I get them crazy sporadically. Maybe it is true, but I don't want to send my brand new watch in for something that seems totally software related. Let us know if the new watch does Breather reminders consistently. Thanks.

Good find, this seems like a plausible explanation. But certainly needs to be tuned accordingly. I don't think that is the problem though, as I've had a reminder go off during a calendar appointment, and then not when there is no appointment.

Could all day events trigger this? Maybe exchange server versus could mail? Something is clearly flakey since 4.x

Just had another reminder.
This is the third week running that I've had Breathe reminders on a Sunday. No other days in between; just on Sundays.

This is starting to become a pattern with me. Wish I could work out the reason.

I don't think it's that.
I don't have many appointments scheduled in my calendar.
For instance, I didn't have anything scheduled Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday or yesterday, but didn't receive a notification.

Very odd.

Sent it in, will keep you posted!

Same thing here. Apple Watch Series 3 and latest public release of watchOS 4.2. Don't have any all-day events in my iCloud or Google calendar.

@Glee217 have you got a chance to talk with Apple about it?

Naturally, watch is on its way back as there is "physically" nothing wrong with it... this is an OS 4.x issue pure and simple! It needs to be fxed via patch...

I have been getting a few notifications, but they are still sporadic...

As I'm on holiday, I've got barely any calendar notifications set, so it can't be anything to do with that!

I actually gotten one Breathe notification after an Apple person gathered all my iTunes data to investigate. I remembered I was very still not moving my left arm while watching a Warriors game. But before watchOs 4 I get them even when I was moving. Also he said to clear my Calendar notifications on one day. I did and no notifications that day (maybe my left arm was moving periodically.

Anyways I am still waiting for an engineer to report back to me with the data gathered.
