that's what i want to know! :) as much as i love my 16:10 24' ACD, i'm very tempted to upgrade to the thinnest Apple display ever!

i want! :D

I am not convinced that a thinner Thunderbolt Display is a given.. I would not be surprised if Apple just did a silent USB2 -> USB3 bump in 2013, but left the overall form factor unchanged.

Remember that Apple has not stated what Retina resolution is on a 27" screen. Apple would most likely put any Retina screen on IMac first. I would be surprised if that happens for ATD in 2014

Not sure how thin, but I'm patiently waiting for the refresh with the screen adhered to the glass and USB 3 just cuz.

My 13" retina MBP needs a big screen companion:D

I was thinking of buying an ATD but now I'm waiting and watching to see if they come out with a new monitor with a MagSafe 2, USB 3.0, and better antiglare like the new iMac. I wonder how long I'll have to wait....

It's a given that a thinner TBD is coming. The lamination process reduces glare and thickness/weight.

It's likely we'll see USB 3.0 and if the Facetime camera isn't already HD it will certainly go HD.

I'd like to see some good audio I/O as well.

Yeah good audio would be nice. Less clutter on my desk is always a good thing. I'd expect to see one that looks exactly like the current iMac. It's pretty crazy that the ATD display is significantly thicker than the current iMac which has a better display AND a whole computer inside of it.

who cares about thinnest, give mi hdmi in with tb in, less reflections, 30 inches and I WILL GIVE YOU MY MONEY :)

I can't wait to see what a new one will look like! Would also love it if Apple could somehow lower the price.

ATD display is NOT thicker than the current iMac. iMac has tapered edges that creates an illusion of thinness. iMac's depth in the middle is over 4cm. ATD depth is fairly even, and is between 3cm - 3.5cm.

Escactly. Thin where? The edge thickness is from where the duck foot meets the enclosure. There has to be room from the motherboard, video board, drive,....etc.

i'm sick and tired of waiting for this!

Doesn't make much sense waiting for a product that you have no idea will even be released if it is causing you physical ailments. Apple never said that there was going to be a 2013 Thunderbolt Display so you could be waiting a long time. By the time they release it you might be too sick to use it.

Thin requires edge lighting and edge lighting means light leak. Backlighting is FAR superior for PQ on a monitor than edge lighting. Be carful what you wish for.

why? Until Apple introduces an iMac with sky high-resolution.....why release a ATD with sky high resolution? Exactly what Mac is going to need/use that resolution.....unless it is possibly the MacPro. Certainly a rMBP does not need a 4K monitor attached.

We know the resolution Apple calls Retina on laptops and iPads. But Apple has not specified what Retina is on a 27" display at arms length.

I doubt it will be 4k. The rMBP has zero possibility to drive a 4k screen. That will take a new design using a much more powerful GPU. If you want that kind of horsepower, order a new MacPro.

i'm shocked that still we don't even have any rumors of new displays...

I am not. At this point, I am not expecting any updates to Thunderbolt displays until there is a next jump in resolution (i.e. 4K). We may be looking at late 2014 or 2015.
