How to answer: "So why did you buy the apple watch?"

Lol. Same here.

I tell my friends I can get notifications, emails, fitness tracking and that there's a lot of cool apps coming soon.
 
This is what I answer to people who tell me I can already do everything it does with my phone, so ultimaty i'll only save a few seconds..

"So according to you the invention of powered windows & remote controls is completely useless because they only saved us a few seconds?"

..Speechless..

"That's what I thought, seconds may not seem like a big deal, but most of us wouldn't go back. Embrace it now or follow later"
 
"It's a new peice of tech, I've just wanted one since I first saw it, so I'm buying it. It's just a new toy for me".
 
I tell them the Pebble has become a very useful tool to me and the Apple Watch provides a lot more features and apps. If they want more, I tell them how the Pebble has made my job easier and how I was never a watch wearer but now feel weird without it. Sure it is a luxury item and not a must have but it's already incorporated into my work flow.

That is my family. They know how much I love Apple products. They didn't even ask me if I was getting one or why. They just said I know you got one. Even though I haven't told a soul yet.
 
"Because I want to" is all the reason I need.

But it also finally lets me reach my wife (she's getting one, too). Her phone is always in the other room, in her bag, on silent, or whatever. She always misses my calls and has to call me back. Not anymore... #

You know how there are RAMMSTEIN or Madonna fans, and they buy every one of their albums (good or bad). Same with Apple. There's nothing wrong with wanting to own every Apple product.

I always just say "I don't smoke, don't do drugs and don't have kids".

My tech addiction is less expensive than all 3 of those :D
 
I just say "to tell the time" just like any other watch does. Them I also add......................it also does lots of other things.

If they say, what else does it do ? I tell them smartphones make phone calls like older phones did and they now do a lot more just like the Apple Watch will do a lot more than tell the time.

If they still scratch their head I tell them its not for you :D

Because it's THE "APPLE" WATCH & with all things Apple you get a drastic improvement & refinement in that product category once they enter it. The dimension in which watches reside is gonna change forever with the Apple Watch!

I love self-deprecating humor so I say, "I honestly don't know. It's a waste of money for the average person. I just lack self-control!"

Which is the truth, I have a compulsion to buy every new Apple product. Even though I don't need most of them.

So I could have a stake in participating in these forums. Best part of buying Apple products is "Forum Anticipation", IMHO :p
 
Even when I was on the fence about getting one people knew I was going to get one. It came as no surprise to anyone when I told them I had one on preorder. They didn't have to ask why...
 
Because I wanted it...and to the snot-nosed one that asked with such sarcasm...well if if your input was needed I would have asked you.

(I can because I work hard to make money so I can use it on family and have some for me as well)

Also it will make me more money (work)
