^^^^Please explain reasoning:confused:

Lou

 Don't you have a 2012? Why are you worried about it?

Right above the first picture:
Users have spotted both Samsung and SanDisk based PCIe SSDs in the 2013 MacBook Airs.

And..

http://blog.macsales.com/19008-performance-testing-not-all-2013-macbook-air-ssds-are-the-same

In the meantime, we have noticed a vast difference in write speeds between the two SSD offerings that we’ve received so far. The 512GB Samsung SSD found in our 13-inch model offers roughly a 400MB/s increase in write speeds over the 128GB SanDisk/Marvell SSD as our 11-inch model was configured.

They compared a 512GB to a 128GB? Ummmmm, i think that qualifies as "apples and oranges".

Besides that not having a THING to do with why I posted it, how do you figure that as apples to oranges?

It's SSD vs. SSD. You upset that they proved your SanDisk 128 is slower than the Samsung?

But, for people like me who only use their MBA for school and YouTube the SanDisk won't pose any problems?? I haven't had a single issue so far lol :)

Of course it won't. I only picked my 256 for the size, not the manufacturer. I probably wouldn't notice the difference in SSD speed if I had to.

Apparently that article just happened to strike a nerve in the sensitive ZBoater..

I think the size of the SSD and the number of chips it uses has a significant impact on performance. The performance difference would be there regardless of brand.

No, not the article, but the posting of misleading information. Yes, I am sensitive when someone compares the performance of a 128GB SSD vs a 512GB SSD and ignore the size and number of chips in that comparison. It gives a misleading and erroneous impression.

You should be sensitive to that too.

You still don't get that I was posting that link for flowrider, who asked why I posted that SanDisk provided SSDs for the new Airs?

I'd never even read that article before. I googled 2013 Macbook Air SanDisk SSD and it popped up. The quote merely mentioned that both Samsung and SD provided SSDs for them.

I didn't post anything to give an impression, and I don't care about the write speeds of the various SSDs. I posted that to show SanDisk is a supplier of SSDs for 2013 MBAs.

Here.

"A 256GB SSD can be made up of 32 independent NAND die, clustered into 8 discrete packages. A good controller will be able to have reads/writes in flight to over half of those die in parallel. The result is a setup that can quickly exceed the maximum bandwidth that SATA can offer... my review sample’s 256GB SSD had no problems delivering almost 800MB/s in peak sequential reads/writes. Do keep in mind that you’ll likely see slower results on the 128GB drive.

I'm not worried about it. But, Leo asked a question, I answered it, and you came up with something off the wall. I was just asking you to explain why:confused:

Lou

WTF are you talking about?

He said SD came up after APPLE SSD and he didn't know why. Here, let me help you out:

and APPLE SSD is followed by SD lol..:s i give up :)

You said TS was Toshiba and SM was Samsung. I told him SD is SanDisk and posted two links that prove they provide SSDs for the 2013s. I'm almost positive Toshiba, who made the SSD in your 2012 MBA, doesn't supply a single SSD for the 2013 MBA that both krazykleo and I have.

^^^^I guess it was a misunderstanding. I didn't know Apple was using SanDisk in Airs. I still have not confirmed they are. Now, I just asked you explain your reasoning, and you asked me why I cared. Well, I asked because I do care. When someone asks me question, and Leo did ask me, I'd like to be able to respond with accurate information.

They tested a 2013 Air with a SanDisk/Marvell SSD in it, what more proof do you need?

If that macsales article doesn't confirm it for you, along with the fact that krazykleo's System Info showed SD for the SSD, and a google search for "2013 Macbook Air SanDisk SSD" doesn't confirm it for you than nothing will, apparently.

Here's a MacRumors thread...is that enough to confirm it?

Hey guys, I'm using this profile on my LG and it brings out some color, the standard profile really is kind of washed out.

it's from the notebookcheck review, they generally give icc profiles for their reviews, this one was made for the 2013 LG and works great (better than the MacRumors profile)
