Might not be a US Military tactical vest that fits an iPad BUT it looks professional, discreet, and no where resembles a purse in anyway when walking around with it. I have also have a Swissgear Backpack for laptop & work equip.

Found it at a target for $20 bucks in the airport travel section & thought. that might fit an iPad.

I just cut shoulder strap off and use the top handle.
Fits iPad like a glove.
and since it's depth is expandable it fits chargers, accessories, etc.
I even fit a Bose Soundlink portable in it along with the iPad.

tactical camping gear called zpacks

they're lightweight & durable, and includes a shoulder-strap with multiple connecting points

Here's what I'm using

Well, kind of a man purse. But I'm so manly that I'm not concerned about that. :D

I bought a light and slim bag at a local hand crafts store for $10.

The bag provides no cushioning so I added a 6x8" shipping envelope which has bubble wrap inside. I cut the envelope down a bit so it wouldn't be so tall, and taped the edges so they'd be smoother.

I also cut some heavy but thin cardboard to fit along side of the shipping enveloped. That adds more impact protection.

Here's the whole thing from the top:

It's light, sturdy and easy to carry. And inexpensive.

Peruvian leather looks fantastic, i wish they still offered the camel leather, i probably would've pulled the trigger already.

And here is the bag that i do have.

I really loved that SFBags Cityslicker for the iPad...

I just got my iPad 4 and I bought this: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B005X64NNQ/ref=oh_details_o02_s00_i00

I'll get it this week and if I don't like it I'll return it and buy that sfbags. I think I'm gonna like it though.

Attach it to your man parts with these to achieve your desired appearance.

Yes yes thats the only way to look manly with an iPad. Bwahaha.

but there are like a thousand different solutions. I just throw all my crap in a backpack as I end up toating my DSLR with me as well so why not?

I remember a thread back for iPad 1 bags, and a guy comments all bags were cool for guys unless they started buying matching shoes, I almost blew my drink up my nose....
