I bought yesterday my new iPhone X, I charged it for about 2 hours before first use because I already have the old idea that the new batteries must full charge before first use and wait until full discharge before charging again, is it a wrong idea?

Battery is in 20% right now, do I have to full discharge or it doesn't matter the way I have to charge now?

Thanks in advance.

It’s one of those tech myths that people follow without knowing why they needed to do it. This is like any other myths.

It’s a wrong idea. This used to be the case with old battery technology, but with Li-Ion batteries, no such thing is required. In fact, try to avoid full discharges. It’s better not to let the battery get empty. In fact, it’s better not to top your battery to 100%, but don’t worry about that. Just charge when you feel like charging for as much as you want.
