How to check in store inventory?

Just picked up my 7 plus. To confirm for anyone that may still be wondering although it's been answered.

You can use the upgrade program and pay full price without ever being part of the upgrade program. I just did it.

So how exactly does this work.. for example I purchased a 7 on launch day from T-Mobile using their monthly financing plan. If I reserve a phone for pick up at the Apple Store what would happen then, would I have to return the phone I have before hand and they would finance my phone through T-Mobile the same way? Or is it just a separate financing through apple?

I selected a phone in my local Apple Store and it says shipping in 2-3 weeks.

Doesn't sound like the purpose of a stock checker to me.

You have to use the link provided in one of the page, to reserve online to pick up in store. Any orders from apple.com will ship it to you in 2-3 weeks.

Also, to anyone who is an expert at this, I need your advice/help.

I just reserved an Iphone 7 Plus 128 gb Black (the model I've wanted ) however i believe the link I used was the Apple Upgrade Program link. Will Apple allow me to use my reservation to simply buy the phone with Verizon on a 2 year subsidized price?(I believe it will come out to $400-$500ish) Thank you so much in advance for your help.

Nope not just IUP, it can be for anything. The guy ask me how do I want to do this? All options are there at the store. The reservation is to ensure that the phone is yours at the time to pick it up.

Thanks for the info about what types of payment when you reserve at the store. I will continue to check as I am debating whether or to wait or just risk and take the plunge. I'll probably wait until I actually see the phones in store but that reserve link worked wonderfully.

You literally have EVERY payment option available. Full payment, IUP, carrier financing, or two year upgrade depending on the carrier obviously

Thanks! I definitely didn't know carrier financing was an available payment option. Damn, that's awesome. Just debating whether it's worth heading to my local carrier store to return my 7 and then heading out to apple to pick up a plus or just waiting to see if carrier stores get some stock and doing the whole exchange in one place

Oh yeah definitely glad they left all options on the table for it. I'd do it through apple after the return. And if there's no pluses today I'm sure u be fine setting up another IUP appointment for tomorrow no problem

Thanks for the advice. I was going to reserve for today but wasn't sure how it would work out. Maybe tomorrow I'll go into T-Mobile to return my 7 and just grab a free phone so I'm not phoneless just in case and then head to apple to pick up a plus.

Do it about 8:05 am your local time, pick the model and everything you want and make your reservation. I'd still check tonight at 12:01 but usually no reservations are up until 8 am

so around 09:30 PST I reserved for a 7 to pick up (iup) at 10:00 PST and use in the meantime while I wait for my Plus to deliver. I get there and ask if i could just pay full price for it. she says: yes, sure. then I ask if by any chance they have a black Plus. she says no since she's been asked all morning. she checks again anyway and says she sees a black Plus 256 GB. I tell her I want it! she reserves it for me before doing anything else. guy from the back brings out a black 7. she's like.. that's not the Plus. he says there aren't any. they go back-and-forth and so he goes to the back to search again. voila! I picked up the VZW version to use on my Sprint and MetroPCS. she said I didn't really need to have it activated regardless of what carrier version. they usually just want to make sure there aren't any issues with service/activation.

I tried to do this at the DC store today and was rebuffed. They refused to let me buy the reserved phone unless I did it through IUP and an assigned carrier. Bummer

You should have pulled up the reservation email you received. It clearly says:

Can I change to a different form of payment for the iPhone Upgrade Program?

Yes. You can also upgrade your iPhone to carrier financing or purchase it at full price. Ask a Specialist for more information.

It's possible you get unhelpful staff, but they were wrong. I called before going to make sure the verbiage of email was clear.

Ok I went there using the iPhone Upgrade Program link and they asked if I was trading in a phone. I said nope, we are starting a new iPhone Upgrade Program. In and out in 15 minutes. No issue.



Today was much easier than Friday with my wife and I's phones.

I just reserved and picked up a matte black Plus 256gb in Woodfield, Il. At first it said "We're sorry, but this service is currently unavailable". i just kept checking back around midnight and then 2am and at 8am i was able to pickup the one i wanted. And you don't have to use the Apple upgrade program, when i got there i was able to choose ATT next.
