If nothing else, just to watch people try to 'kill it' by hitting it hard. The aches and pains that would cause...

Last time I golfed, it was a scramble, and one in my foursome kept trying to 'Happy Gilmore(?)' shot after shot. He really sucked at it. We never played any of their shots, obviously, and he never got the clue we weren't impressed. We could have used a few 'better' shots too. I kept finding expensive Callaway balls too, which is why I played x-outs. *shrug* I play bad golf well...

Yeah, I remember that movie and I have seen countless people step up and try to do the "Happy Gilmore" and it never ends well, always injuries...messed up back, knees, shoulder, elbow, etc.

Heck, today is one of the first days in a while in central New York that one could golf, seeing as it has been wet and cold for the past week and a half or so, and then today it is going to be 88°/89% humid. Then on the weekend it is going to be 91° and 92° but the humidity during the day will be around 55%, which is not horrible, seeing as the humidity on these weekend nights/early mornings will be 90+%.

Weird weather up in our part of New York State.

I play Titleist Pro V1's and just picked up a dozen Bridgestone Tour B RX's. If you do not mind spending around $30/dozen, Bridgestone's e12 Contact are great balls which I also play.

Now I am kind of curious which clubs you use, haha.

Happy golfing!

TMI much?

But AirTag in balls. I could see the logic in it.

I wonder if only my phone will update them? Or since they “connect” to any iPhone (and other Apple devices nearby), can they get updated through those devices?
Wants to know the same thing. Mine is connected to my iPad, not my iPhone.

Yes, this is a very slow rollout of firmware. Glad it is not urgent game changer update.

Glacially slow.

I have had both of my AirTags siting on my iPhone for the past 12 hours with a solid wifi signal. NO UPDATES.

Is there another adjective symbolizing something slower than 'glacial'? Maybe 'NOTHING', 'NOT HAPPENING', 'YOU WANT WHAT?'.

Ford forbid if they come up with a mandatory 'hair on fire' update for these things. If it could take 6 months for updates, if it is a 'vital update', the things are a screaming joke.

I, just this morning, said that the reason why so many corporations, etc, are being hacked is because updates aren't installed. So what if there ever is a mandatory important update, there is a problem because we can't even get a basic update to install.

Apple needs to figure out how to push updates WAY MORE EFFECTIVELY! Seriously... This 'magic update' scheme is failing...

EDIT: HAH!!! Wouldn't the irony be that fixing the update process would require them to be updated? OMG!!! 'We have millions of these things that are supposed to automagically update, and it's not happening, and we have an update to fix it, and we can't get them to take the update to update the updater process'. OMG!!! FAIL!!!

Balls. I actually have far more than I thought. But the only reason I have so many is because I lose so damn many. A traceable golf ball is a great idea, although I don't imagine that many ball companies will be jumping for joy at the prospect of bad golfers playing weeks with the same ball.

Can you stop this update? It seems like a step back to me.

So far, I haven't been able to get them to update, so with luck, you won't get the update either. It seems to require some magic incantations and possible odd body postures, and possible sacrifice of some over to get the update to happen. Maybe this will cause the update to happen?

I'm just worried because I do not own an iPhone, I only have the tag on the dog in case she goes missing. So I don't want it constantly going off as my partner and I work different times. Also what happens if we're both at work? Is it just going to go off and annoy the dog?

But I don't think it's going to work out of the box if it's not 'attached' to an iPhone. Just out of the box, I think it's just basically inert, useless.

I’m doing the safety dance for days now. You’re telling me I’m doing the wrong thing?

Apparently we are thinking it wrong. I would have figured 24 hours in a solid wifi signal area, and sitting on top of the iPhone ON THE CHARGER would be the secret sauce. And, nope...

I haven't tried the warriors pose with perpendicular pointed feet. Hmm...
