Apps dont run in the background so having loads of apps wont make it go slow. I know this, on my iPod touch and iPhone I have over 9000 apps (another meme!) and I notice no slowdown at all.

Wait, what? Did you just say that having a lot of applications on your iPhone does NOT lower the iPhone's performance? Have you been drinking? The iPhone is just like a computer. When a computer has very little free space of its hard drive left, it tends to be very slow. When the iPhone's hard drive is so bogged down with useless apps that you don't use, it takes a hit on it's performance, especially with the iPhone's low amount of RAM. So no matter what you say, having a lot of apps does lower the iPhone's performance. It's a widely-known FACT.

P.S. You can't have over 9,000 apps on your iPhone and iPod Touch. Not enough space. That is, unless you jailbroke them and hide them with Poof. But even then, I doubt the hard drives are big enough to hold over 9,000 applications. You make me laugh. XD

come on, they're just icons, it's not like they're making your iphone thicker...

8. You don't need a notes app. Use Notes from the included apps. It works fine for simple notes and you can even extract the notes by using PhoneView or a similar desktop App... or you could email them to yourself.

This is plain wrong.
Do me a favor, try Evernote (free): replace Notes.app with it and tell me if you ever want to go back to the basic "widget" of an app after using Evernote Desktop, Evernote iPhone and Evernote Web. It's amazing.

The iPhone has a separate space for apps, also they have flash memory not a hard drive.

Over 9000 is just a meme, I dont literally mean I have 9,000 apps.

I know that the iPhone has a separate partition for apps. I'm not a freaking noob. But the fact is, that having a lot of apps does take a hit on your phone's performance. Ask anyone.

My iPhone works just fine with loads of apps.

Good tips there.

I'm like prob most people here...
1st page - All iPhone apps including Contacts minus App store and iTunes.
2nd page - App Store, iTunes, and app store apps (I only have 4)
3rd page - Cydia and Winterboard, (this is where other 3rd party apps will go)

Some nice tips. Even though I have to disagree on the arguments about the to-do-apps and the notes-app. I NEED a to-do-app, because I will never know the exact day and time for each task. And IMO Apples note-app is a bit to basic. And I hate it's interface. That's why I am using MagicPad.

PS: Here are my two home screens.
