I've been neglecting updating my watch, mostly because I don't like to do "automatic updates" and by the time I put my watch on the charger at night, it's down to like 10% and I just... go on living my life. Apparently my Watch Series 3 is still on watchOS 6.2.1.

I went to update and it's telling me it can't because I need 3.1 GBs of space. I only have 4.7 available to me and I really don't have much on my watch, 25 photos, no podcasts, like 7 non-Apple apps. It says I'm using 2.9GB of my space but I have no idea what that would used for... The watchOS download is just shy of 1GB so what gives? Why do I need over half of my space to do this update?

This is a known issue with the series 3. I recommend doing a factory reset on the watch and then attempt the update immediately. That worked for me.
