I gave up trying and just went to the apple store...

Was a good result really as they gave me a brand new 64GB ipad 3G and when i checked the warranty online it says expires Jan 2012
:)

At the end of the day, if you have a 3G ipad, i'd think twice about upgrading it to the new 4.3 Beta

Help!

Ok, someone's gotta know how to do this.

Un-jailbroken, 32 GB iPad 3g running iOS 4.3.

I do not have a developer's ID.

Tried everything on Google and did not work. No xCode, no TinyUmbrella, no nothing.

xCode can't roll baseband back, and everything else just puts me in a loop. I cannot go to an Apple Store. HELP! :(

That's the position I was/am in. I can get back to 3.2.1 and 3.2.2 just fine since I had my blobs saved through Cydia but for the 1st time I couldn't make a computer do what I wanted it to do and get back to 4.2.1-ggrrr. 4.3 just won't allow you to downgrade your baseband back to whatever version 4.2.1 requires. Although it allows me to get back to 3.2.1, I'm assuming only because my shsh were saved and Apple isn't signing those anymore. Your only real option at this point is to stick with 4.3. Is there a reason you don't want to stay on 4.3 and want to get to another version instead?

When I post my first reply in this thread, I actually WAS able to downgrade from 4.3b1 to 4.2.1, but now I'm stuck with 4.3b3. :/

I've tried restoring with or without the Cydia server, every time but one resulted in iTunes error 1015, kicking out of recovery didn't work either, the iPad was stuck at booting logo for a couple of seconds, then reboot itself in DFU again.

For the only time that did work, my iPad didn't seem to restore properly, iTunes said it was in 4.2.1, but it immediately asked for password upon unlocking, and I never set up one.

Get on google and look for someone to register your udid. At least then you can get one of the 4.3 betas installed.

I had this problem when I installed the 4.2 Beta 3, I couldn't get back to 3.2.2. I eventually gave up and just lived with it. However, on Apple's developer website there is a warning before you install the beta that you will not be able to go back to an earlier version of iOS if you install the beta.

You can run the new greenpois0n at the 1015 error, then open iTunes. It will kick past the recovery screen.

Downgrade baseband to 15.05

Hi all,

I have an iPad 64G wifi + 3G (model:MC497LL) originally came with 3.2.2 version, 06.15.00 modem firmware.
Last night i accidently update it to version 4.2.1 with 7.10.00. modem firmware !!!!
My question is, can i downgrade the the modem firmware back to 06.15.00 and keep 4.2.1 version ?
I am OK with 4.2.1 version, it has more features than version 3.2.2 anyway.
I did not save my SHSH with Cydia thou :( .

Any help would be greatly appreciated !

No, it is currently impossible to downgrade the iPad baseband.

Quick question, why is the baseband important on the iPad? Isn't the iPad already unlocked?

This is sort of related, I'm running 4.3 beta 3 on my 16gb wifi only model. It hasn't been jailbroken at all. Is there an easy way to restore back to 4.2.1?
