Wow

I had no idea that the ink level feature didn't work on leopard. Did duplex printing work on leopard? And yes, I did install the latest driver (and it does say that it's the 10th version of the driver in the printer properties).

Thanks for this thread jmpage2! I went through this process after upgrading to SL. Since a clean install of SL, I have been putting this task at the end. These instrux will be helpful!

It seems if you're directly connected to the printer, SL's drivers would suffice; however, to print wirelessly Canon's drivers are needed...

Aside from the drivers I'm going to avoid installing Canon's software.

I could not find the Installation Check file when installing the MF4680, do your guys have any clue? Thanks:eek:

Good news for MF4600 series users, I've just downloaded the new driver dated 4 September 2009, installed and tried it ad it works. while installing the driver, do not use the 'more printers' like installing in 10.5. Instead, use 'print use' row and the correct printer will appear on the list. The driver description also says it only work till 10.5, just ignore it.:D

Software Update has new Canon Printer drivers. I have an MP620. So this update may help others with Canon printers, too.

Yes, the new Canon drivers seem to resolve quite a few problems.

I know this is an old thread but I just wanted to add my thanks to jmpage2 as I've followed your instructions to get my printer/scanner back up and running wirelessly. Cheers.

Have you loaded the new MX860 series drivers Canon released this week for 10.6.0?

It's worth noting that the ink levels, etc, never worked on my Leopard installation but started working after I had to reload them for Snow Leopard.

Use 'Canon Print' mobile app. I have used it in my iPhone running ios 9.1 and it works
